Turns out, you simply have to choose the option to transform on the screen where you pick your move. This does NOT use up a turn, which begs the question, why even offer the option NOT to transform? Why isn't this a Giratina type of deal, where you transform as soon as you hold the appropriate held item? The only logical reason would be that there's some sort of drawback, such as certain stats dropping to compensate for others being raised or something. Of course this is speculation, but what we do know is that the transformation comes at no cost other than the held item slot.
Also, Fennekin is revealed to know Psybeam. Suddenly we can be a lot more comfortable in our secondary type pick...
Did you mean Psybeam for Fenneken? That's what Serebii has
ReplyDeleteHe must've corrected it, he had Psywave earlier.
DeleteGod, these Mega Evolutions just have me way too damn curious (and I'm already a very curious person to begin with). I'm very curious as to how the stats will be handled for them.
ReplyDeleteThe cool thing about this is, you get two abilities to activate at once. Mawile intimidates the foe, giving them a stat drop, then transforms to get huge power after intimidate has served it's purpose.
ReplyDeleteSince you can still do a move on the same turn, and I assume the stat buffs will be for stats they can actually use (Attack for Lucario; Attack and Speed for Absol), I must ask something. If this is indeed a drawback as they say...they call that a drawback?...
ReplyDeleteI guess they wanted you to have the option to back down in case, say, you accidentally put the Lucarionite on your specially-oriented Lucario (I have one)...
Of course, you do say that some stats may drop as the drawback. Again, we shall see...probably next month...
DeleteNot being able to hold another item such as a life orb, a choice item, or leftovers and the likes is kind of a drawback, but nowhere near enough imo.
DeleteUnless the boosts are insignificant (woohoo, 20 extra base attack!), or we're talking stat shifts instead of boosts.
DeleteIn other news, I guess it's been confirmed that fairy does half damage against fire types (though fire is neutral against fairy types). I don't recall but isn't that what that leak claimed?
ReplyDeleteSerebii said nothing about Fire being neutral against Fairy...
DeleteI got my information from Bulbapedia....

Forgive me. I did not see the Bulbapedia article when I wrote that comment...
