BW2 info - Famous Starcraft caster

Things are beginning to slow down!

- First off, more Dream World abilities! Water Absorb on Seismitoad is great because of the Swift Swim combo ban, but Chlorophyll Whimsicott and Leaf Guard Lilligant are a laugh. It's Prankster and Chlorophyll respectively that make them what they are, and I wouldn't get rid of that.

- The Royal Unova is practically identical to what it was in BW1, the one difference is that you can get in it as soon as you reach Castelia for the first time. Of course, each trainer has separate teams for the main game and post-game.

- Major discovery! N returns as a superboss in his castle once you've captured all of his former Pokémon (so they do have a point after all). The real kicker is that he has four different teams that he uses depending on the season, and they're weather teams (rain in spring, sun in summer, sandstorm in fall, and hail in winter). And here's where it gets interesting: obviously he can't use Kyogre and Groudon, so he uses Politoed and Ninetales instead. Meaning that N gets to use Dream World Pokémon, which as far as I know is a first for an AI opponent.

  2. Looking at the teams for the N superboss fights, I'm noticing some possibilities. This is mostly speculation since Serebii.net doesn't have all of the abilities up and I haven't checked other sites to see if they have them up yet

    1) Something in me tells me that. for the spring team, his Tentacruel has Rain Dush, another hidden ability.

    2) His Hippowdon on the Autumn team had Stealth Rock. I see very few trainers in the game who use that move on their lead.

    3) Also for the Autumn team, I'm noting the low base power of Scizor's moves, highly implying the Technician ability.

    4) The winter team has a Shell Smash Cloyster. If that Cloyster also has Skill Link then it shows how good N is.

From all this, I can conclude that Game Freak may be looking at the competitive community and taking notes.

    1. Makes me wonder what the Japanese competitive community is like...

  3. I thought it was own tempo that made Lilligant who she is because of the petal dance combo?

    1. In-game? Yes. Competitively? Don't even think about it.

  6. There are 3 things I'm wondering about right now.

1- Why do you unlock the difficulty change keys after the Elite Four if they can be used right at the start ? For now, my plan is to make a new game for fun until my brother beats the Elite Four in Black 2 so I can erase it and start my "true" game with the Challenge Key.

2- Why the hell does N only have his legendary dragon for the fight to get that dragon from him ? Considering all you had to deal with before this fight since it's late in the post-game and the importance of what's at stakes, you'd think it would be a battle against a balanced full team... I wanted to see if Game Freak could make him use a Zoroark well this time. (And of course change a few members of its team considering how they were almost all weak to Fighting in the last games...)

3- Does that mean that Water Absorb Seismitoad is a better choice than Water Absorb Quagsire now ? :(

    1. Depends on whether you can deal with the complete lack of Waterfall or Ice Beam... but it does have much better stats all around. The question is, would you want to use Water Absorb Seismitoad over Unaware Quagsire, Storm Drain Gastrodon or any Swampert at all? The answer is, of course, a resounding no.
