New Pokémon's silhouette revealed: new Zygarde form?

Well, they've actually done it, they managed to throw us for quite a loop. When people woke up to this this morning, it had them talking. But there's still a solid consensus that this is Zygarde's new form to be featured in the next game, or at least one of them. Volcanion is definitely out: this clearly ISN'T Volcanion, and it's not a potential alternate form either, you'd think they'd show us the base form first, after all. Besides, you can clearly see the diamond eyes which are one of Zygarde's signatures. A few people are already getting hyped for gen 7, and I can't possibly see THAT happening. We're probably not getting gen 6's last game this year, and you can bet they're not going to give us both it and the first gen 7 games in the same year. This is probably Tornadus-T all over again, nothing more.

  1. Do you think GameFreak will do anything for the 20th anniversary? Maybe a bunch of events like the 10th?

  2. Unless that's Zygarde fused with Hoopa, I don't get where you think that's Zygarde.

    1. Take Hoopa Unbound's silhouette, I don't get why anyone would think that's Hoopa either. Yet here we are. And there's the aforementioned Tornadus-T too. I don't think anyone saw that as Tornadus of all things.

Besides, if this ISN'T Zygarde, then what is it? It doesn't look like any existing Pokémon any more than Zygarde. And at least the eyes look like they'd belong to Zygarde, if nothing else. Hell, it's obvious there's gotta be something special with Zygarde. Its stats are too low, and it has two unused signature moves in the game code.

    2. We are talking about the red guy on top that looks like Hoopa right? Because all I see is Hoopa.

    3. No, I'm talking about the black silhouette with the lit eyes.

    4. So I did research because as usual you have the expectation because a person is a fan of something means they know all the things there is to know right from the start, so skip any and all explanations about what you're talking about.

Rant out of the way, I see now you must be talking about the shadowy figures below what I have now learned is an already revealed Hoopa form that I missed hearing about until now. So now that we're on the same page here. I gotta say I can't see how Zygarde is going to go from a snake to a humanoid like thing. Maybe something to do with Norse Mythology I don't know about, otherwise I really can't see this being Zygarde.

    5. So I decided to do a little bit of research into snakes in Norse Mythology as the main title legendary Pokemon take their inspiration from that mythology. I can't find any stories about snakes transforming into beasts. I'll do a little more research but it's not looking good for the idea that this is Zygarde. I mean it's possible Game Freak could just be like "fuck it, we are doing our own thing," but generally these kinds of things have their inspiration and Norse Mythology is where you'll find it if it's there.

    6. According to Bulbapedia, Zygarde can be based on either Nidhogg or Jörmungandr. Wikipedia has this to say about the latter:

"In one [myth], Thor encounters the serpent in the form of a colossal cat."

It's not exactly cat-like, at least as far as we can see, but there's that. If they want to give it Oblivion Wing as I theorized elsewhere in these comments, it'd have to look like this.

    7. Hmm... well if Jörmungandr can turn into a cat, who's to say he can't assume other forms as well? Sure that's good enough for me for now.

Though I did have another idea. This picture is from an upcoming Pokemon movie right? What's to say this isn't a robot built by Team Rocket? I haven't watched the anime in for ever but last I remember Team Rocket is always building robots.

    8. Logically speaking, they wouldn't hype this thing up if it was just a Rocket robot.

    9. Logically speaking Celebi should be a fairy type.

      But yeah you're right.

It would be an epic troll though if it did end up not even being a Pokemon.

    10. I can kinda see why they didn't retcon most fairy-like legendaries (and I guess they knew changing Chansey and Blissey was a bad idea too). There's no excuse for the pixie trio, though. The literal point of them is that they're fairies!

  3. One problem is the lack of Z imagery, but then it's only a silhouette. We should be on the lookout for an alternate form for Zygarde, though, since it's almost guaranteed to get one and we're overdue for an announcement for (a) deluxe version(s).

    1. If not two. I wouldn't be surprised if Land's Wrath was overwritten with one of the other moves upon form change, like Kyurem's Glaciate and Scary Face.

    2. ...oh, crap. Speaking of Kyurem's Scary Face... what if another of Zygarde's moves was replaced with Geomancy/Oblivion Wing? After all, this thing looks like it might be winged.

    3. Looking at Zygarde's level up moveset and taking into account Black and White Kyurem and how they changed, the most likely options to be replaced by Geomancy/Oblivion Wing are Bind and Sandstorm, with Bind being the slightly more likely candidate in my mind given the lack of a serpent shape in this new form.

    4. That, and the game might hit itself in its confusion if the replaced move also happened to be a TM.

  4. Yeah, Zygarde needs those moves and the better stats a Mega and/or Forme would allow for. It's a shame because I really like Zygarde...

    1. I wouldn't be surprised if Kyurem-B got the banhammer if it ever got Icicle Crash, or hell, even Ice Punch would do. The fact that it's forced to go mixed to do anything is embarrassing. At least it's been getting a lot more popular lately... that's a start.

  5. It's clear you hate the Anime. But I've always wondered if you enjoyed the theme songs since you've used them in the credits of multiple let's plays.
