IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT BELOW

I would like to announce that I am officially pursuing the Republican nomination for the 2016 American presidential election. I mean, it's not every day that I get the chance to look THIS competent compared to the competition.

    1. Basically, there are so many people running for the Republican nomination you could fill the entire convention with just the candidates. This includes a solid lineup of rejects from the 2008 and 2012 primaries, and Donald Trump.

  2. Good luck, Republicans only take batshit insane, wealthy, religious people who are defined by their hate. You'll fit in like a Zangoose among Sevipers, and that's perhaps the best compliment one can revieve.

    1. Yeah republicans in themsleves are controlled and stupid, though more sensible conservative people (one even running the republican convention to change things) aren't too popular because, in reality their ideas are different, very few things actually seperate Democrats and Republicans, you won't be surprised to find wealthy or batshit insane people in the Democratic side either
      Also stand with Rand

    2. Indeed, there isn't too much of a difference between the two. Hell, for all that hardcore Republicans like to depict Obama as a "communist", he's probably not even worthy of the "liberal" status the second you step outside of US borders.

    3. Obama is center-right at best. There is no party for liberals or progressives in this country, which is why I'm an Independent. Bernie Sanders as president would be a dream come true.

At least Obama has implemented some progressive policies in his second term, now that he has nothing to lose. Sucks that he's for the TPP and supports NSA spying, but he's being vocal about certain social issues like systemic racism and LGBT rights.

    4. If we're going to be honest neither party is for actual liberals or conservatives (talking trad. liberals and trad. conservatives)
Also I wouldn't say the tradeoff between gay rights and NSA spying support is worth it, most candidates are pure crap anyways, I too vote ind.

    5. Haha, I don't envy Americans one bit. Here in Canada a third party is actually leading the polls and stands a reasonable chance of winning this year's election.

    6. A 3rd party won't rise for a long time unless there's a mass realization on the electorate
The situation is at least partially improving, online stuff, support of parties like the Libertarians, some intresting stuff in state legislatures

    7. Okay, Shadianvice, I want to make something perfectly honest with you. You're being really hypocritical right now. You claim to promote tolerance but you're being extremely intolerant toward Republicans, wealthy individuals and religious people. Calling Republicans "batshit insane, wealthy, religious people who are defined by their hate" is nothing more than hysterical rhetoric and it makes you look extremely immature. I'm trying not to be rude but this is really the only way to put it. I hope that you're more rational next time you feel the need to talk about political issues.

    8. Oops, that was a typo. I meant I wanted to be perfectly honest with you.

  3. Of course the TPP and NSA spying isn't worth any progressive price. Those things and the continuation of pointless war and drone strikes are why I don't like Obama as a president. But he's undoubtedly better than Bush or various other recent conservative presidents.

    1. Oops, that was meant to be in the previous comment chain.

  4. Is Canada's politics as volatile as Australia's right now? (i.e. the two major parties are becoming near identical as one another, forcing a move towards a third independent/minor party?)

    1. Maybe not in terms of policies, but in terms of corruption, at least. The Liberal Party collapsed in the mid-2000s over a large corruption scandal, and the Conservatives, who got elected based on their promises of transparency, didn't turn out to be any better.

  5. You as a Republican. That would be a sight to see. You being any political party would be a sight to see, given what you'd have to say to appease the big ones. Yeah, the two party system is crap. And for those who say, "Nyeh! There's more than two, you bloody moron!", there's only two that usually get elected, with maybe one or two Independents or other parties thrown in for the sake of variety. The sad thing is that if a non-Democrat or Republican gets a major office/representation (I'm not talking one seat in Congress) in this day and age, that party will just replace one of the ones we have now, be it temporarily like the Whig Party, or permanently, as was the fate of the Federalist Party. This has been White, Middle-Class Guy Complaining About America Theatre...

  6. But... you aren't an US citizen, Slow! You can't run for US president; you were born in Canada!

    1. Funny thing is, for all the bitching they do about Obama being born in Kenya, if their messiah was born outside of the US they wouldn't give a rat's ass.

  7. Hey, there are a few, very very few, competent Republicans.

It's just the 90% majority is batshit crazy idiots.

Rand Paul is....decent. Not anywhere near as good as Bernie Sanders, but he's decent. If he got elected, I wouldn't mind. But Bernie Sanders getting elected is a dream come true. On the other hand, the nutcase known as Jeff Boss pursuing the Democratic nomination becoming president would be the end of the US as we know it. Guy thinks the NSA did 9/11.
