Rayman leak confirmed fake

So now even video footage can be faked. The surprising thing, if anything, is that we had to wait until 2015 for video footage to not be foolproof anymore.

Lots of dislikes on the video, and I gotta say, this is silly. This is so good, I can't possibly hate.

  1. Well shit, the likelyhood of new DLC characters besides Mewtwo shot back down to near zero.

  2. As soon as there wasn't any actual gameplay footage, I was skeptical.

If you've ever heard of the Animator vs. Animation... animations, the guy who makes those did something similar in the fourth installment.

So even though it was fake, that dude's got talent. I applaud him.

  3. At least we know how he did it. This guy is incredibly talented.

  4. When you think about it, this is really going to have a strong effect on the future of leaks. Now, nothing is going to be automatically trustworthy, bar maybe gameplay. We're going to have to be careful to not jump the gun from now on, especially myself, who as you saw, was a bit too convinced once the video came out, I'll admit.

Oh, and in relation to the dislikes, as you'd expect with any stunt like this, the internet is going on another witch hunt. It's stupid that people could get so mad over something like this that they'd be willing to harass the guy. I mean, when you think about it, we owe this guy a favor. He taught us a pretty important lesson.

    1. It's not just the lesson, but also the fact that he put in so much work to make something impressive. He also came out and admitted it was fake within 24 hours because he wasn't really intending on misleading people long-term, which is good.

  5. No gameplay footage and no announcer voice on the select screen were reasons to be skeptical. But still, that guy's good. It's a mystery why guys like him aren't working for an actual game company. Maybe fake leakers are getting so good that the companies should just co-opt their talents and hire them outright.

  6. Once again, I'm glad I'm INCREDIBLY skeptical. Even with the video, I wasn't entirely convinced.
