Tutors and TMs also datamined

It appears that there are almost no new tutors this time around, just old ones, so the first five gens should remain unchanged. But old or not, they're a godsend to many of the gen 6 Pokémon (I get my Knock Off Malamar, for instance). You can see the raw file here, and the list of tutor numbers at the bottom of this post.

There ARE a few level-up/egg move changes though, such as Boomburst Flygon, Water Shuriken Accelgor and Spiky Shield Maractus and Cacturne.

Edit: Crunch Gyarados also confirmed, so at least its mega will be able to use dual STAB decently. Whether it actually will is another matter entirely.

Also, Dark Pulse is going to be BOTH a tutor and a TM. Let's recap, shall we? There's that, no customization (although I don't really care, I still don't buy their bullshit excuse), probably no Hoenn Dex expansion, probably no Battle Frontier, no patch for X/Y, and MAGICIAN FUCKING MEGA HOOPA. This remake just SCREAMS "rushed" at this point. The game isn't even out yet and it feels unpolished as hell. Remakes don't seem to be Gamefreak's thing, are they? You know how when talking about Sonic, people say Colors and Generations were good by accident? Are we going to be saying the same thing about HGSS?

1. A surprising lack of new Stealth Rock users. Maybe Game Freak realized just how overpowered a move it is?

On another note, some of the tutor moves are moves which were remade into TM's this generation, such as Dragon Pulse and Dark Pulse. *slow claps* Good job Game Freak. Good Job

1. Dragon Pulse was remade into a TM this gen? Since when? There's no excuse for Dark Pulse, though. This, combined with Magician Mega Hoopa, the lack of customization (not buying the official excuse at all) and the potential lack of Hoenn Dex expansion tells me this remake is kind of rushed.

2. Oh? My memory must be playing tricks on me.

But there is still possibility for a Hoenn Dex Expansion. See my post at the bottom for details

3. Indeed. This remake seems like it's basically RSE with the newer gen's updates like new evolutions from 4th gen and 6th gen Megas. Definitely not so hot of a game... Might be a good idea to even skip on it if they release a new Kalos game.

2. Finally Gyaradose can get crunch and the mega can handle things like Jellicent and slowbro reliably (instead of having to switch out or use the weaker bite) :D

3. Wow... this seems pretty underwhelming. I mean, I'm still glad the tutors are back. At least I won't have to use the less convenient Gen 5 breeding mechanics to get some moves on particular Pokémon, but still. Considering they skipped a generation to bring us a much better-looking remake than people were asking for, I would have expected much more coming from of it

4. After how much HGSS expanded upon GSC, this is a little disappointing... This reminds me a bit of FRLG, but at least even that added a whole new post game! The only possibility is that ORAS could have some DLC somewhere along the line, but seeing as they didn't even bother to make the new Mega Evolutions compatible with XY, that's kind of unlikely.

And then even the amount of Mega Evolutions is a little underwhelming too. We got, what, 23 Mega Evolutions, counting Lati@s? I expected at least Slowking and Butterfree to get mega evos too. Unless they're being saved for X2Y2/Z, that is.

So yeah, this is pretty underwhelming, with the only possibility being the chance of DLC later on but that is highly unlikely anyway.

1. 23 megas is still way more than anything we ever got in the middle of a generation, so I'm not complaining.

2. I guess so, it is basically like getting new Pokemon mid-generation.

3. And there is the massive amount of Legendaries. Let's hope the clouds of evil don't run on the logic of that one battle in the sky in FF6...

5. Yeah, Game Freak has handled OR/AS shittily, that's for sure. The Mega Hoopa and Dark Pulse things are really bad, and the trainer customization... well my stance on it is the exact same as yours. However, I'm gonna be the odd guy out and say that the lack of a Hoenn Dex expansion (outside of stuff like Froslass and Dusknoir) and lack of a Battle Frontier aren't... well, they're a bit bad, but I would have been rather surprised if it was any different. Sure, there were reasons to expect those two things happening (X/Y having a 450 mon regional dex and HG/SS having a Battle Frontier, respectively), but at the same time, one could also say that there weren't reasons to expect those things. HG/SS's only Pokedex expansion was just for new level up evolutions, and FR/LG and HG/SS just copied whatever battling facilities that there were in the already existing games in that generation.

1. Yeah but the point is that X/Y with practically no postgame has an extreme lack of something like the Battle Frontier while Emerald and Platinum had one so many expected to at least get something decent in the remakes.

2. And? The lack of a Battle Frontier in X/Y is to be expected. In every generation, the first two games never had a Battle Frontier, just a simple Battle Tower-esque facility. More attractions were always saved for the deluxe version/sequels. And the lack of a Battle Frontier in OR/AS is the same thing. Like I said, they're just doing what they've done before, copying whatever facilities were in the games released before them. Granted, though, I know absolutely nothing about this "Battle Resort," so maybe it's something other than a Battle Tower clone.

3. Platinum had a Battle Frontier, though, and considering the fact that HGSS incorporated just about every unique aspect of Crystal, you'd expect ORAS to do something like that with Emerald (bar story-based stuff, of course). And the Battle Frontier was Emerald's big signature. So from that standpoint, ORAS is failing to do what HGSS did masterfully.

4. That's another way of looking at it. Although you stating that Platinum has a Battle Frontier confuses me a bit, though. Nobody stated otherwise, and Platinum was the deluxe version of gen 4.

5. True, but it also was the second of three games that came out that generation, just like ORAS now. So I'd expect a little more meat than the Battle Tower or one of its clones, honestly.

6. I wouldn't be so quick to say there's no expansion to the Hoenn Pokedex. Some trainer data was found and there was an interesting bit of info: Winstrate Vito's date. His team is about level 44, so Victory Road levels, and his team had Darmanitan in it.

7. Glacia's team is almost worse than her RSE team:

RSE:
Lv. 50 Glalie
Lv. 50 Sealeo
Lv. 52 Sealeo
Lv. 52 Glalie
Lv. 53 Walrein

ORAS:
Lv. 52 Glalie
Lv. 52 Frosslass
Lv. 52 Glalie
Lv. 52 Frosslass
Lv. 54 Walrein

Sure, it's good that she hasn't got two unevolved Sealeo anymore, but four Pokemon from the same evolutionary family, all of which are the same levels and probably have nothing different to each other (not even a Mega Glalie)?

Phoebe's team is better as she's swapped out a Dusclops for a Dusknoir, and the only Pokemon she doubles up on now is Banette.

1. I'll just change from Manectric to Blaziken and save Manectric for Walrein.

8. Trainer Customization? Nobody cares.
No Hoenn dex expansion? No expansion in HGSS, and the game was great.
Probably no Battle Frontier? Don't know where you got that...
No patch for XY? Didn't happen the past two gens, and 23 new megas don't sound very "rushed" to me.
Magician Mega Hoopa? Happened before with Rotom-Fan.

1. Well, I'm a fool, seems like we got something called "Battle Resort".

2. Which I assume will be the Battle Maison with a resort motif. Only good part is no Scott S. Stalker...

4. I really love the trainer customization. Ever since I started playing long ago, I wished I could switch my overworld sprite. And it's really difficult going back.

5. Fun fact: Rotom-S actually benefits from that redundancy, it's the only Levitator to not give a flying fuck about Mold Breaker Earthquake. There's absolutely nothing Mega Hoopa can do with Magician.

Besides, even if we don't consider that, it was caused by the sheer fact that the Rotom forms' types were retconned, they weren't always this way. And giving all forms except it Levitate would've been kind of weird, to be honest. Meanwhile, they could've chosen any ability in the game to give Mega Hoopa, because it's debuting in this game. Yeah, it made a lot more sense in my head, I know.

6. Also, nobody cares about trainer customization? Just because you or I don't care doesn't mean nobody does. Or have you missed every wishlist for the last two or three generations including trainer customization, even at the expense of more important things?

7. True, but walking with Pokemon was on many wishlists, and after it never came back after HGSS, no game was ruined.

9. First I was upset about Game Freak not bringing a Pach for Pokémon Y. However I had a discussion with an viewer and he brought up a pretty good point: the problem is that while the savefile is saved on the cartridge the patch is saved on the system. That means if you have the game on the patched system it would all work out fine. But what happens if you transfer over new megastones and then want to play the game on another 3DS. Will it just be unplayable? Will it resist to start? Will you be forced to update? Or will the savefile just not load? Actually a good question if you think about it.

1. My best guess is that you'd be forced to update. Didn't the berry glitch fix from gen 3 function by transferring data from one player's cart to the other? They could've done something like that, except with the systems themselves, for people who want to play with each other locally. If there was a way to do it back in gen 3, it should be easy to do it now.

10. That Hoopa probably isn't a mega at all

Hoopa-Other has:
-+80 BST, not +100
-Magician, as you said
-a different level up movepool

it's probably an alternate forme along the lines of black/white kyurem

1. Yeah, and the Pastebin file says "Hoopa-?" instead of "Hoopa-M". It's been brought to my attention already. And it better be right, because if it isn't, it just adds a layer of stupidity to the whole thing.
