This is officially the worst tournament ruleset ever

From a Canadian SSB4 tournament. It's like they asked fucking GameFAQs for these. This is the most embarrassingly casual ruleset I've ever seen. It's like if VGC banned the use of any Pokémon with a defensive stat in the triple digits because stall = TEH UBER CHEAPZ0RZ. I remember back in high school, when we banned DK in the original because the guy who was by far the best player around happened to main DK... still a better ruleset than this, and we were a bunch of casual scrubs.

  1. Corollary to Rule 2: Everybody must use Fox only.

  2. Like I said previously, the NOA Smash tournament is going to be using rules much more similar to regular Tourney rules, minus stock

  3. Battlefield is honestly more balanced than Final Destination. Final Destination favors fast characters that shoot stuff. There's a reason the Fox Only meme exists...
Still, are these the types of people that would ban dedicated IV Training in Pokemon (they'd probably determine it by making sure no IV exceeded, say, 200)? Imagining them as little kids playing secret society still makes it funny...

    1. Yeah, it feels like FD is too bland given that there is no vertical depth to the level.

  4. I'll just repeat to myself over and over that I'm solely going there to have a good time with my friend and to possibly get exclusive merchandise to try to forget the embarrassment that I'll be present to the Montreal event for this tournament. No way I'm taking this seriously, I think I won't even aim for the win and just try to find a way to make their life as miserable as possible on the annoyance level. Something like spamming Yoshi's Egg Roll maybe and say that I use a scrub's playstyle for a scrub's ruleset. This is just an idea on the top of my head, I'll try to find something else and preferably with at least 2 characters in case I miraculously win a match.

    2. Getting the exclusive Mega Evolution without trading would be nice, though...

  7. Remember how you talked about a rumor saying that ORAS would be released the same day as Smash Wii U.... It was right. Whoever is working at Nintendo marketing and planning should be sacked. It is so stupid, oh my gosh... wow.
