Turning on the Nob-signal

If you know anyone who's into rare gaming items, the Game Boy Pocket used by Nob Ogasawara when he translated Pokémon RBY is going to be auctioned off tomorrow at around 6 PM Eastern / 5 PM Central at tsg.tv, with all the proceeds going to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital - win or lose. I have no idea how much this thing is worth, but there's no doubt in my mind that it deserves to go for quite a bit of money, so if anyone can reach people with deep pockets that live for stuff like this, please make them aware of this! If almost $3000 can be raised with a debate over which kind of gravy is best (hint: white gravy on poutine sounds like a worse culinary disaster than spaghetti sauce on poutine), there's absolutely no reason why a piece of gaming history can't do better.

  1. I watched the auction, and sadly it only made a bit over $2200. I was surprised that no individual bids broke $1000.

Though this was the first TSG marathon that I've tuned in to in ages. I'll definitely have to keep track of them more now.

    1. It ended the moment people started RALLYING behind Bulbagarden rather than going all-out against them. With that said, I expected a lot more serious contenders.
