Samus' new boots are horrible!

I mean, only a person who trained in acrobatics normally impossible for your typical human being from a very young age would be able to do anything with THESE heels!

Oh wait...

  1. I also don't get the outcry that the heels are sexist. Why would putting a female character in shoes that are typically viewed as feminine be sexist? What, should we do everything possible to make her act, fight and dress like a man instead? That sounds like the true sexism to me. It's not like Samus is getting damselled anytime soon.

Personally, from a gameplay perspective, I like the change. I couldn't stand playing as ZSS in Brawl, and this looks like a cool addition.

    1. Either they think the heels are sexist because Other M is sexist, or they're just your typical Tumblr sub-human social justice warriors.

    2. Putting a FEMALE SOLIDER in shoes not designed for combat, for no reason other than to get 13 year old boys hard is the definition of sexist dude.

What does it even MEAN to "act/fight like a man" anyway?

    3. 1. They are used in combat, they are rocket boots
      2. I dont think anyone is particularly turned on by shoes

  2. Is Other M bad from a story perspective, or a gameplay perspective, or both? Anyhow, it seems even Doug Walker hates the heels too.

    1. The story is akin to drinking a gallon of sulfuric acid, and the gameplay, while not quite as catastrophic, is not up to Metroid standards at all, and is in fact dragged down by how dismal the story is.

    2. From what I've heard, the story correlates badly with the gameplay due to a segment where Samus has to get through this lava place without the Varia Suit due to Adam's strange rule about it.

  3. I actually don't really like the heels either not because their heels but because well... They're ugly they look bulky and the way they are they are attached to the heel they just don't look like something that would complement her but hey maybe I'm wrong

  5. What are these heels you speak of? Anyway, I won't cry "sexism!" but I will be devil's advocate and argue that if someone had to be an acrobatic super warrior, they would be in attire that maximizes their flexibility. A weavile could hold a lagging tail, but why would you ever do that and not give it a choice band? Just so you can say "My slow-arse weavile beat your sunkern! lol!"? It's the same argument with samus. Some good track shoes would make her even better.

Also, mario needs to ditch the overalls in favor of metal-plated armor.

    1. Wait Jynx wasn't banned it appear, eventually, and then what about Wishcash he appeared later dispite it's first episode being in an episode with a similar situation that was banned if anything that episode won't see dubbing and the world will have to wait for Skrelp

  7. I wouldn't say the heels are sexist. But ZSS is definately supposed to be eyecandy/sex appeal.

Some people may complain that its sexual objectification and it probably is but so what? Its not like there is much point in this game other than the gameplay. Its a party fighter, all the fighters could be wireframes. Why not make the fighters appealing rather than 40 year old soccer moms who've let themselves go?
