This is my home from now on

If you haven't seen my latest announcement yet, go watch it now.

Anyway, it was a surprise to see how many people wanted to see this blog stay up, and since it's much less time-consuming than LPing, I'm more than happy to oblige. And hey, no more awkwardly splitting content between here and my YouTube channel, this is going to make things much easier for me.

    3. Man, I can't wait to read your thoughts on more X/Y gameplay as well as the metagame that will be developed after December when the rest of the Pokemon can get in the Gen 6 era.

This will be the 1st time I will take the competitive side serious and for fun so I am looking forward to reading your thoughts on it.

  3. Nice to see the blog stay up, I like to see your text based LP of X or Y.

Even though it's kinda sad you're retiring from LPing, well, everyone loses that spark eventually! I don't think I could go on for 5 episodes of a LP without stopping!

    2. Thanks for the tip, it kinda makes sense that it happened though, considering that the post just wouldn't upload. No surprise to see glitchiness then.

  4. After some reflecting, I've determined my 2 favorite slowflake LP moments (It's a tie):

The 8 red coins in clock tower.."Now just watch as i miss the fucking coin. (misses the coin) .........FFFFFUUUUUCCCKKKKKKK!!!!!!!"
    or
Some guy in the comments section said "Slowflake can you give me any life advice?" Slow:"ummm the only life advice i can give you is DONT ASK FOR LIFE ADVICE FROM A COMPLETE STRANGER IN THE COMMENTS SECTION OF A POKEMON VIDEO"

lolllll just remembering the good times.

    1. Hence why, seeing that poor sap get told off, I opted to PM Slow mine...LOOPHOLES!...
Personally, I liked that one moment in the ice level of 3D Blast...

    2. Going back through some of his older LPs, he had some lovely reactions to the 8 Balls in Ken's Labyrinth. Especially in the one level where he unlocked a bunch of 8 Balls hidden behind a door.

  5. Well ol' friend Slow, (welp not really old, I only started watching the day your Platinum LP ended) I must say, your content was always what Ive been very entertaining, My favorite times were during suspect testing videos, where you talked about the meta-game, which your rants and speculation got me into competitive Pokemon.
Thanks for 3+ years (for me at least) of quality content. Stay Gold...
This all too much reminds me of this

  6. Favorite LP? The Room. Hands down. That was hilarious. Speaking of The Room, this is totally how I felt when I thought of your last Pokemon White 2 part you uploaded where it said "This is goodbye, but not the end!" in the description.

I'm kidding of course. Good luck in all of your future endeavors in life, Slow.

    1. Yeah, about that... the idea really took root in my head AFTER I said that. Sorry about that. Didn't mean to be a liar or anything. It was when I stopped recording for a few days that I realized, oh my god, I could get used to this.

  7. I guess all good things must come to an end. It's been a real pleasure to watch your content for the past 2 years since I subscribed to your channel. Your unabashed style and massively overlevelled teams of pokemon roflstomping every Elite 4 from Kanto to Unova will be greatly missed.

I will continue to follow the blog though, and I hope to hear your thoughts on X & Y soon, as well as more rants about the emerging Gen 6 metagame.

  8. ...So does this mean the XY LP is cancelled? I was looking forward to a Chesnaught solo run.

In other news, back to the purely written days, I suppose. If anything, it will be a pleasure to read your thoughts from start-to-finish without the interruption of random NPCs.

    1. ....I am pretty sure he went very far out of his way to make an intro to a video saying he was never going to do XY.

    5. Sarcasm doesn't travel very well over the internet. Even if you have as lengthy of a track record with it as I do, as I found out.

  9. Ah, now I'm going to have to go rewatch the old LPs, they're officially both classics and relics of a bygone era. Oh well, not complaining.

  10. Well, it's sure been fun. I first found you near the end of your Crystal LP and I've been watching your videos ever since. It's a shame your LPing career has to end here, but it'd be even worse if you were just forcing yourself to continue doing something you didn't enjoy anymore. At least the blog's still going to be a thing, so it's not really a goodbye for those of us who still follow you here.

  11. I commented on the video, but here is the full version, unrestricted by a character limit:

Thanks for the memories, Slowflake! You have always been my favorite LPer, and probably will be forever. It is sad to see you go, but you are right; it is much better to leave things off on a high note than to force yourself to put out crap ad infinitum. Here's to hoping that years down the road in a moment of boredom, that you fire up that Audacity for old times' sake to spill out your thoughts again. You never owed us anything, but you gave thousands of us a solid five years' worth of wonderful entertainment.

YouTube lost someone great today. You were the first person I ever saw talk over a video game, and I am eternally grateful that it was you that got me interested in watching LPs. You will forever be the yardstick by which a quality Let’s Play is measured in my eyes, and all I can hope for is that your videos will stand as a small beacon of intelligence in the vast sea of YouTube drivel for many, many years to come. If it were not for your announcements, I likely would not have been interested in The Speed Gamers, let alone donate for their good causes. You can be certain that I will follow your blog for as long as you're on the internet!

Thank you for everything, Slowflake. You will be missed.

  12. I'm rewatching your Red LP and going to rewatch them all. And you mentioned this yourself many times but it's great how much you've improved your english pronunciation over the years thanks to your LPs.

  13. You're stopping your LPs? Man...

I just want to say one thing about you, and I'll keep it short and sweet - you were basically THE person who massively got me into Pokemon during 2009 - 13, more so than I had been before or after, so I'd just like to thank you for making my love for the series as big as possible during that four year period. You also developed my interest in video games that I had at the time, and without you I wouldn't have been into them nearly as much.

Good luck with everything after you finally retire from LPing, and just thanks for your massive (and extremely good) playthroughs of the Pokemon series - no-one, NO-ONE, has ever done them that good. Cheers.

  14. Even though I'm a huge pokemon competitive battling fanatic, strangely, I was introduced to you by your Ken's Labyrinth playthrough. I hatched an Adamant Krabby named Eugene while watching it. It makes perfect sense when you think it over. There must be tons of other pokemon LPers out there, but you are the sole proprieter of a Ken's Labyrinth LP. I came for Ken's Labyrinth, but I stayed for pokemon.

I remember that one passing comment you made about Commander Keen in your Sonic 3&Knuckles LP. You said you'd never LP it, but a part of me wishes you had done it anyway. DOS games like Ken's Labyrinth and Commander Keen are special to me.

In regards to your decision, I think it's for the best. The main reason I listened to your pokemon LPs was for your thoughts and speculations on the metagame. In blog format, the pretense of a casual playthrough/commentary is gone and you can cut through the fat to get directly to the important business at hand, which is the news regarding the metagame.

Though now I have to hatch eggs and grind while listening to someone else's videos. You will always be Eugene's godfather.
