Unpopular opinion time

Megaman 6 and 9 have better soundtracks than 2.

Go ahead, verbally assault me for not thinking MM2 Wily stage 1 is the best thing ever.

  1. I agree. Not even just saying that for the sake of it. Mega Man 6 gets way too much flak. Mega Man 9 is actually considered better than 2 by many fans. I am so sick of Wily 1: it's an amazing song that got me pumped the first time I heard it, but it's been done to death.
An unpopular opinion of my own: Mega Man 3, 6, 7, 9, and 10 are better than Mega Man 2. 2 is by no means a bad game, but you can tell it's still finding its feet. The Metal Blades just break the game, and the stage design lacks a bit of that pop that you see in the later games.

    1. The problem with 6 has nothing to do with the gameplay, as far as I'm concerned. It's just that the premise is extraordinarily dumb. I mean, the mysterious Mr. X? Who in the world would fall for that? Well how about THE ENTIRE CAST OF MEGAMAN?

Otherwise, nothing wrong with the game itself. I found playing around with the Super Adapter to be very enjoyable, especially since it's nowhere near as awesome in MM7.

  2. I like 8's soundtrack and gameplay. There, I said it...

    1. I didn't mind 8 at all. Mind you, I hadn't played a single Megaman game until about three years ago, so my judgement might be skewed, but I rather enjoyed its brand of uniqueness. Just one thing, though. THOSE FUCKING SNOWBOARDING SEGMENTS FROM HELL.

    2. Allow me to clarify: I like what I have played of 8. I could not get past the Jetboard Sequence from Hell. FrostMan's is the Prototype Jetboard Sequence from Purgatory. Did you do the Mega Ball double jump trick for especially Astro Man's stage?...

    3. No. I just did things the normal way.

    4. The Mega Ball trick does make things a lot easier. Not that 8 pre-Wily 1 really needs to be any easier...

  3. I actually think MM2 has the second worst soundtrack in the series(First being MM1 of course). And Wily 1 from MM2 isn't nearly as good as people say it is IMO. I'm expecting to be murdered in my sleep after saying this.

    1. I actually like 1's soundtrack. Wily 2 from that game is one of my favorite Wily castle themes (better than 2's. I may like 5's more if only because of the rock remix). Besides that, the only theme I am indifferent at worst to is Wily 1 from that game. Really, I love Cut Man's theme, Elec Man, Guts Man, Fire Man, the Wily boss theme, etc. Now you and everyone else will kill ME. Granted, I am the guy who likes 8's soundtrack...

Yes, Wily 1 from 2 is good, but IT IS MORE OVERRATED THAN ICE CAP (also good, but overrated) AND PRETTY MUCH EVERY MODERN FPS IN THE MARKET SANS THE METROID PRIME SERIES (which I plan to try someday)!...

    2. Let me clarify. By 1, I mean the original. In Powered Up, I hate Cut Man, Guts Man, and Elec Man; but I like Wily 2 and the Wily bosses in that game...

  4. I know of someone whose least favourite Mega Man game is Mega Man 2 (even calling it easy, even on Difficult) and finds the Wily 1+2 BGM from that game overrated as hell. Personally, I don't blame him. It is overrated, that is a fact, especially because of Okkusenman. It's decent, yes, but there are better Mega Man songs out there.

    1. Yeah, and I think most of them are from the later games. Dark Man's fortress? Tomahawk Man? Yamato Man? Flame Man? MM6 Wily's fortress? Cloud Man? Galaxy Man? Tornado Man? MM9 Wily 1? MM9 Wily 2? MM10 Wily 1? MM10 Wily 2? Which one's my favorite? It's never the same one on any given day!
