YouTube fails yet again.

So I just attempted to upload my latest video, and a pop-up window appeared because YouTube decided it wanted me to start using my real name on the grounds my username was "hard to read". HARD TO READ. Do they give that excuse to everyone? What if your username is "John Smith"? Is that hard to read too according to those bumbling buffoon baboons?

Of course, I turned the offer down... I couldn't go all the way through with it, though, because even the system that's supposed to let you choose whether to make the transition or not isn't working properly. It's a wonder how no other video-hosting site comes close to YouTube, considering how it's been run into the ground in the last few years.

  1. I got a similar pop-up when I was watching/commenting on someone's video. It deleted my unfinished comment and it was a long comment it really annoyed me. So much for watching the whole video before commenting...

    1. Me too. I watched four or five of your playlists before I caught that, and that was only because you actually spoke it. Ive seen two others even link to your channel, then later call you Snowflake!

  4. Yeah, I was asked this too a few months back. And they asked me WHY I didn't want to use my real name. Because I'm not a FREAKING IDIOT, maybe? I can't think of anyone that uses their real name on YouTube, etc. except for James Rolfe and Mike Matei.

    1. Doug and Rob Walker, Lewis Lovhaug...still stupid how they think people want to use their real names...I also thought Slow's username was Snowflake until I really read it. I am a moron, and so are you if you think Ness Prower is my real name...

  6. Well, some place for real names does belong on the internet *points at first part of username used in almost all the sites I go to*, but that's small.

Youtube just wants to get into your life. Same reason they want your fucking PHONE NUMBER now. No, Youtube, I'm about as likely to give you my phone number as I am likely to give it to Youngster Joey.

    1. I think I'd rather use my real name than give YouTube my phone number.

    2. I'm not sure why so many people think Google is the savior, the Microsoft killer, etc. It's just as bad as Microsoft - if not worse. I already told you about the time Chrome installed itself on my mother's computer without even asking her, and tried to do the same on mine but I noticed it during the installation?

  7. How is youtube on the uploader front?
I know it's the most viewer friendly video Hosting site out there, but I've heard some real nightmare stories about the other side.

    1. I would assume those who have problems are those who monetize their videos, because I never had any issues.
