Chunsoft, why have you forsaken me?

Serebii says this on MD3:

The accuracy on this game leaves something to be desired.

Example; Munna

Munna has Hypnosis. It ALWAYS hits. Even though you have items that can awaken you, you can't access them if asleep, allowing them to chain kill you

Great. There goes any balance the game might've had. All this after they put a lot of effort into balancing MD2.

Also, unlike what the pre-release screenshots implied, you can only evolve in the post-game. Again. So the one excuse they might've had for giving us only five starters doesn't even work. You know what? I think I might pass on this game.

  1. So, if I'm understanding well, the main focus of this game was to make use of the 3DS capabilities with a huge graphical update and some AR gimmicks while completely disregarding the gameplay ? Wow. I never would have thought that something like that would happen for a Pokemon game of all things.

    1. I'm praying gen 6 doesn't suffer from this. Rumble 2 was solid, though, so I'll hang on to that hope.

    2. Hey, the MDWii games were terrible, and... ok, it hasn't bounced since then, but something tells me that Chunsoft will bounce back eventually. And remain one of the solid side-franchises.

Also, we all knew that balance was going to be shot to all hell. Dunsparce, I remind you all. So, does Flame Charge work as brokenly as we hoped?

  2. It's depressing, but I know the reason why you only have those 5 starters - marketing. By having Pikachu, Snivy, Tepig, and Oshawott, you get all those little kids going "Ooh, daddy, I want Mystewy Dungeon Thwee! It has Oshawott in it!" And ker-ching, more money for Nintendo. If it was, say, Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle, the little kids probably wouldn't care all that much, because they don't know what they are. As for Axew? The only thing I can think of is because Iris has one in the anime.

But I only have one hope for Pokemon spin-offs - Ranger 4 on the Wii U. It would work a lot better on there than the 3DS.

  4. Okay I just found out you can't even recruit all the Pokemon that ARE available, Such as lugia, one of my favorite legendaries. Sure this game has a dungeon generator going for it, but it doesn't seem like it will add more than the older games in the amount of content. I really love the mystery dungeon series but it seems like it might be a pass for me too. Such a shame...
