MD4 brings back starter quiz

And there goes the one thing MD3 did right.

  1. I actually really liked the starter quiz. Not sure why. I wouldn't exactly call it a good thing but I always liked the randomness of it. I guess without it I would probably have ended up choosing Turtwig every time.

  2. Huh. Other sources seemed to believe that the starter quiz could be merely optional though. You sure it's brought back as a mandatory thing?
Seems weird they would have what looks like a starter selection screen just to be to be predetermined roulette-thingy.

    1. Maybe you have no control of the roulette, and it's what it shows after you take the quiz? Like, what we saw in the first trailer was what happened after you answered the questions, and in that case you turned out to get Pikachu...

    2. Welp. Time for tedious resetting until we get the Pokémon we want, I guess. I personally see no point in going with the flow if that personality data doesn't influence your character's dialogue.
Oh wait, never mind. I think Etrian Mystery Dungeon is more fun to play than Pokémon Mystery Dungeon, so I'm not even buying that game, never mind. :P

  3. Controversial opinion blah blah blah- honestly I enjoyed the starter quiz only because I had little preference as to which starter I wanted to use (unless I got Phanpy, Phanpy is garbage). I could really work with whatever I got and it gave a nice feeling of having your main character resonate with your personality, even if it isn't necessarily reflected in dialogue throughout the game.

  4. Right now I'm ok with this... But I know I'm going to be pissed when I can't get ___ on my first try. I remember in PMD1 I'd always gets Machop/Psyduck if I honestly took the quiz.

  5. I can feel the FAQ inaccuracies already ;-;...
Hopefully I still get Bulbasaur/Treecko if I still answer honestly...

  6. I always used a FAQ so I could get a good starter depending on the questions.
