Starmie is the new Greninja.

I'm not even joking. Three months ago, Greninja was ubiquitous as hell, and Starmie was completely gone (#63 in usage in December). Then Greninja gets banned, and suddenly everyone who used it replaced it with Starmie. Both are fast, decently powerful Water-types, so it goes without saying. Anyway, Starmie ranked #13 for the month of March. It was used no less than SIX TIMES AS MUCH as it was in December.

As a side note, Tornadus-T and Hippowdon are two Pokémon that have seen a huge resurgence in recent months - expect them to rise to OU in the next major tier update. The most recent quick update saw four Pokémon rise from various BL tiers to the tier above, including Serperior which is now OU. I have to say, it may have been a wise call to not release it last gen. On the other hand, Chansey usage is dropping like a ten-ton anvil. If it's unleashed into UU by the end of the year, this is going to be so entertaining.

Random thought: it's funny how people say Landorus-I is damn near broken, yet the Therian form is still seen three times as much. I mean, it's better than the six-to-one ratio from three months ago, but still.

  1. Starmie was the original Greninja. Now, with it gone, it can take its place back...Woth the bonus of a Spinner for those teams that don't want Defog...

    1. Remember back in early Gen 6 when everyone and their mother thought Greninja got Rapid Spin?

    1. Same here. It's kinda odd seeing it be inferior to Slowbro after all that time Starmie has spent in the tier.

  3. That's saying something when Starmie sees more usage than Excadrill in terms of Rapid Spinning.

  5. Hi, this is unrelated - but I remember you put up a blog post quite a while ago about a website of sonic erotic fan fiction etc., I mentioned it to a friend and wanted to send it to him but I've spent the last half an hour scrolling back through your blog and haven't been able to find it. Could you please link that post here please? Thanks!

    1. You mean Sonic Passion? I'd linked to an article about it, here it is:

      http://www.sonic-online.com/sonicpassion/

The site itself is down, and the Wayback Machine doesn't have it archived, unfortunately. Remember, the admin ragequit when she found out Sonic wasn't real. That's the level of fucked up we're dealing with.
