Snow Warning Aurorus will be a thing soon

And with that, every non-legendary will have access to its hidden ability in some way, shape or form. Now Aurorus is a pretty terrible Pokémon from the start, but Snow Warning may still be helpful. Unlike what many people seem to claim, Snow Warning IS a fairly solid choice compared to Refrigerate thanks to Blizzard getting perfect accuracy. It's just a smidge less powerful, but it can freeze and isn't blocked by Soundproof (that's on top of hail's chip damage and the ability to disrupt opposing weather users, too). However, Refrigerate Hyper Voice bypasses subs, and you don't have to put up with hail hitting your teammates or running out at the worst time (though let's be honest, what kind of Aurorus lasts five turns without dying or switching out?).

  1. Only way you can circumvent it dying like that is to have it be a Rock Polish set, and hope the other guy is incompetent. That last part applies to many of the more exotic choices...

  2. I don't see it making any big impact, honestly. If Contrary couldn't do much for Serperior, there's no way this is going anywhere.

    1. Well Contrary did rocket Serperior all the way up to BL. So it at least made it into an unstoppable beast in the lower tiers. And while I agree it took way more than a coin toss with Refrigerate to make Aurorus usable, it's still probably the best hail setter out there if you want to run a hail team for some crazy reason (better results in the lower tiers, of course).

    2. Yeah, it at least gives Aurorus another option to work with. Not that it will give it much more use, but as you said if you want a second hail user there you go. Speaking of which, why the hell does hail NOT help ice types? Sandstorm boosts Rock's Special Defense, Hail should help Ice types in some direct way stat-wise. Ice needs all the help it can get, which is pretty sad :-(

    3. Not sure why it doesn't boost special defense. Regice could've been interesting last gen had that happened.

    4. Or physical defense for that matter.

    5. Which would be better to boost? You'd think physical because of its weaknesses 3 are predominantly physical (granted rock was 3 physical to 2 special, but it had shitty special defense on average) and it would at least make it something different. It would help ice types for hail to boost SOMETHING, even if only helping it slightly it really needs something else going for it outside of a type chart change (it needs another resistance or two...make it resist fairy?)

    6. I don't know why I said special, physical was what I had in mind so it'd do something different from sandstorm.
