I done messed up.

Generally I try to not spread information that isn't true, but this time that's exactly what I did. Remember when I said that in Hyrule Warriors the Regular Attack+ skill only boosted the first attack of the string? Well, further testing deemed that false. It boosts every attack of your regular attack string, not just the first. However, it still does NOT boost combo attacks as some other places reported. Heck, there's nothing about combo moves in the skill's tooltip to start with, so I have no idea how THAT got around to start with. Same with the skill being called "Normal Attack+" instead of "Regular Attack+"... maybe it's a European thing? As far as I'm aware there are a few differences in localization between NA and Europe, such as "Rogue Forces" being referred to as "Other Forces" or something like that in the latter.

  1. I actually meant to mention that to you, but I kept forgetting. Yeah, it boosts the entire string. I'm not sure how effective that makes it compared to Finishing Blow+ or other augmentation skills, though. It would perhaps be more useful on characters that frequently use their later combos or have a hard time getting weak points in one try. Now that I think about it, it might be absolutely fantastic on the Dominion Rod, since as far as I know, the normal string with statues is your primary means of attack instead of the combos.

    1. It's probably because I'm utterly inept, but I just spam C3 all day every day. Works well enough for me. When I try going beyond R3 on the regular string, the enemy I'm trying to hit is already a lighyear away. One weapon that would really benefit, though, is the Spear. Honestly, I hate the combos on that thing (though the slingshot is at least usable since the buff), and there's this spectacular icy explosion at the end of the regular string.

I think we can all agree Hasty Attacks is master race, though. Put that and No Healing/Defenseless on a 420-power weapon, and nothing short of an act of God (also called a TP map trash mob) will stop you

    2. I just got a flash of an image in my head of a Bokoblin being the commander of an army. You enter its keep, and it immediately teleports next to you anime-style and launches you across the entire map, taking all of your health in that one hit. XD

For the Spear, it's C5 all the way for me. You can dodge cancel immediately after the shockwave, and it's a very fast and powerful attack. That's all I do when I use the Spear. What a crap weapon.

    3. Yeah, it's probably the worst in the game now that Zant's no longer part of the equation. Funny thing is that the game's best is also a spear.

    4. I got hasty attacks on my deku spear, and suddenly it's alot better. In my experience the C5 attack that shadian vise mentioned, as well as the ice explosion are the only good moves the spear has, and the deku spear taking forever to get to use either of those moves was always my biggest problem with it.

Also Slowflake, I was thinking the same thing about the best and worst weapons both being spears, I also think the naginata is right down the middle in terms of weapons (that's kind of a spear?)

    5. Every weapon is a lot better with Hasty Attacks (with maybe the exception of Young Link), but the slower ones and those that have trouble against giant bosses are the biggest beneficiaries. And yes, the Naginata is fairly average, though I seem to rank it a bit lower than most.

  2. So apparently the new event Johto starters have random natures, but you only get one chance because they're sent directly to your boxes. What did you get for yours? I managed to get a Timid Typhlosion, so that's cool, but Meganium and Feraligatr were both Lax.

    1. None, I don't have Bank anymore. Besides, you can breed those abilities, so no biggie.
