Urge to hurl gamepad rising

Seriously, fuck ROB's unlock method. Ten (edit: it's really eight) Crazy Orders in a row is already a rough ride, but then beating Crazy Hand and cohorts in a stamina match where I have enough HP to make Diglett look like a brick wall... ARRRRRGH. I've made four attempts thus far, and I only made it to Crazy Hand once, with Samus. Of course I got destroyed at that point. Now I haven't really looked into optimal equipment (and to be fair, those failed runs still gave me some interesting stuff), but I can't imagine making things that much easier with it.

  1. Not sure how much you know about Crazy Orders so I'll just shotgun fire advice.

The amount of damage you have before battling Crazy Hand determines how much HP you get. Do you know about the Home-Run bat strategy? There's equipment that gives you a bat to start off every match, and there's also a Quick-batter badge that halves your swing time. The CPU's don't know how to dodge your bat, so you're good to OHKO everything. If you don't have that equipment on the Wii U version, see if you can transfer is from the 3DS version. The hands take crazy damage from you throwing your bat btw. Finally... Crazy Orders is the best way to grind gold for the 300,000G challenge.

    1. I got the thing that halves swing time, but not the other one. And I don't have the 3DS version either, so that's not an option.

Question: how good of an idea would it be to have two attack equips and one defense equip? I'm usually all about the powerful sluggers anyway, and I've read positive defense doesn't do much but negative defense screws you over massively.

    2. I usually just do 3 attack equips when I go for heavy hitters. Do you have equipment that heals over time, or heals after each KO? Stuff like that is bitter sweet in crazy orders because you want more damage on you. Two attack equips and one defense equip could be worth trying.

    3. Hah, I wish I had healing stuff. Nah, I only have vanilla stuff or really bad trade-offs for the most part.

  2. Everywhere else says 10. And I looked it up, and Crazy Hand can be #10.

  3. Well, you're right. Seems like you need to do eight rounds, THEN go after Crazy Hand in round 9. Good to know.

  4. That's the reason I prefer Master Order. I just did the 60 smash fights method it goes by surprisingly quick if you have 1 stock and 2.0 damage ratio.

  5. It took me a few tries, but I eventually managed to do it with Robin... or Link... I don't precisely remember. At the last match before fighting Crazy Hand, I would just let myself get hit a few times on purpose to get more HP for the final fight.
With Robin, my strategy was to pick 3 on 3 team battles as much as possible and let my teammates distract the other AI so I could charge and fire Thoron as much as possible (and the AI was too dumb to dodge most of the time) to then finish them off with Smash Attacks once my tome had run out.
With Link I just played aggressively while using projectiles relatively often.
I don't remember which one it was precisely because there was one with which I unlocked ROB and the other holds my current record.

  6. I dont know why but i'm really loving crazy orders, maybe it's the gambling nature.
Generally I go in there with no customizations because I dont have the good ones yet minus a few, and there's lots of good loot past round ten.

  7. Really? I've never had an issue with the Crazy Hand fight. I've gotten over 10 several times and its more a formality than anything else. All his attacks are extremely predictable and the cohorts are more just there to annoy you.
The hard part for me was just getting to the fight (you have to do it with Greninja for a challenge, by the way), since sometimes the available tickets are less than favorable.
"get better" is such a non-advice but that's really all i can say. The health you have should suffice assuming you're always in the air attack and have the dodge down pat and just bat away the cohorts when they get near. If you REALLY have issue with them, they have a secret stock of 2 each. There are auto healer & vampire gear that can help with health. If you have any homerun bat that's basically cruise control for like 60 round runs.
Also if you go into the final fight with over 100% damage, you'll get additional HP.

Finally, if you think this is rough, after 15 matches you face Crazy hand, the 2 cohorts, AND master hand.

    1. The cohorts aren't too much of a problem, they get knocked back easier and only have 2 stock, but master hand and crazy hand with hp only is hard indeed

    2. Crazy Hand's attacks may be predictable, but he's got new attacks I've never seen before, and I've had the game for less than two days.

    3. ohhhh i see

It might be worthwhile to practice in the middling levels of Classic Mode, where only Crazy & Master show up. You have to deal with the added combo attacks but it should help you get the timing down

  8. Honestly this didn't give me much trouble. However, if I was to offer any advice it would be to try and get a custom equipment which gives you an auto-heal buff. VERY helpful. And a final tip, the time limit for the orders doesn't apply for the Crazy Hand fight

  9. That's why I just did the 100 VS. Matches to get all the characters, honestly...

    1. As for stages...I used the Hammer for PAC-LAND and Lucina to get one KO in Cruel Smash...

But, but it makes the chiaractahs less satisfying to get. Where is mah challenge ?

    3. Screw challenge! If there's an easy way without cheating that I can get stuff, I will take it!...

    4. I definitely agree. For people who just wanted to unlock all the characters right away, too much hard work would have been way too much of a pain. Besides, they give you a choice. Which way of unlocking you pick is your call.
I just wanted to make fun of people who actually believe the crap I previously said. :P

    5. That's pretty much why I did SSE once and only once, just to get the characters, it wasnt hard or too fun but I did it

    6. Since battles done in Smash Tour and Smash Run count towards character unlocking for whatever reason, I might just resort to the former. My brother noticed this when he unlocked Lucina for seemingly no reason after doing Smash Run.

    7. Resorting to Smash Tour ? Well, I guess you do need the few challenges linked to it as well...
Dunno about you guys, but I agree with most people when they say that this particular mode is possibly even more of a clusterfuck than 8-Player Smash. Playing alone against the CPU in it isn't fun at all. With someone else it's bearable though.

    8. Yeah, challenges were what I had in mind. Besides, off the top of my head I need 60 Smash fights to unlock ROB. Sure, there's bound to be Crazy Orders challenges too, but I want to wait until my equipment doesn't suck.
