Hey Koei, guide-dang-its aren't fun.

How am I supposed to know the ladder item DOESN'T respawn until you redo the mission right below the square where it appears? Here I was going all over the place instead of heading towards the Summoning Gate unlock because I needed a ladder for one of Fi's pieces of heart, hoping after each mission I did that the damn thing was going to respawn. AND IT NEVER DID. It's only when I did some research in GameFAQs' HW board (yes, I'd gotten THAT desperate) that I found out they did that. What a load of bullshit! How about you have it respawn the same way every other item in the game respawns?

  1. I'm not sure it's specifically that, but it certainly is random and arbitrary that that particular item functions differently. Speaking of which, have fun in the TP map whenever you get to it. I've heard the Tears of Light items don't respawn at all, and while they're not required to complete any maps, they make them tolerable. Twilight-covered squares impose a special condition on the mission, like no special attacks or magic meter. The worst part, though, is that the map in the mission is incredibly minimalistic and doesn't show you the locations of officers or other important information. I thought it was a glitch at first, and when I realized what happened, I left the TP map and haven't yet gone back. That's one restriction I never want to have to deal with again. Bring back the obnoxious twilight sections on the Twilight Field Legend Mode map, but don't screw with my detailed information.

    1. At least there are just enough Tears of Light, so you're not forced to keep squares in twilight permanently.

  2. Yea, that was pretty dumb. I hate how there is only one ladder on the map yet there are 2 places where you need to use it, so pretty much everyone is going to encounter that problem at some point. I guess they wanted to preserve the Guide Dang It nature of Zelda 1 having the same overworld and all.
