The dumbest pet peeve ever

Yes, that's me dissing myself here.

So the new update for Hyrule Warriors increases the max level to 150 (not surprising, with the ever-increasing amount of content available), and the amount of each material you can have at once to 999. Now there's no difference for me in terms of the former, since my highest character (Link, but is anyone's NOT Link?) is level 65, but for the materials thing... I can't help but be a bit frustrated that the increase is done NOW, as opposed to just having the limit be 999 from the get-go. I've left a very sizeable amount of trash mob materials to rot because I couldn't carry them anymore, and even some officer materials too. So the fact that I could carry ten times as many now makes me feel like I've lost out on something.

And this is the dumbest feeling ever, objectively speaking, because what difference does it make, really? Pretty sure those materials I have 99 of can craft every last badge I'm currently missing, and those that don't, well, if I had 99 of them it'd be the same thing, it's silver and gold materials that are slowing me down.

What about you? Do you have that kind of really stupid thing that annoys you in games, even though it doesn't make the slightest bit of difference?

(Gotta say, though, that retro remix of the Twilight Princess theme that plays on the Adventure map is amazing!)

Edit: Oh, by the way, speaking of dumb pet peeves, there's a "???" in Link's weapon selection menu for the Spinner. AND there's a medal for Amiibo presents. My OCD is going mental right now.

  1. Games with horrendous default controls, mostly SNES games and some pre-Quake PC games, even if I can change it sometimes I forget and just shit my way through the game

  2. I personally think it's to add more replay value seeing that one of the new metals (achievements) is to get 999 of any material and if it was like that from the start people would have probably got that medal ages ago.

  3. Not sure if I would consider it a pet peeve exactly, but I am INCREDIBLY picky about the teams I use in sports games. For example, in a game like NHL I can't use a team like the Panthers becuase the logo and unis are so ugly.

  4. Getting the last two EVs in the 4-point stat on 252/252/6 spreads. Don't ask why.

  5. Welp. I sure am glad I wasted money on a Link Amiibo now... Nintendo really know how to make us want them... Dem bastards. Gonna download that DLC this evening, I guess.
These could potentially sell even more than Skylanders. (Note that I said potentially... and that I hope they don't continue to give them functionality that would make us want them...)

    1. Awww crap. The Spinner is incredibly fun to use. I can't believe I never regretted my decision of buying that Link Amiibo one bit... At least it gives me a more serious Amiibo to show around, I guess ? (Because the other one I bought and the only one I was supposed to get in the first place was the Kirby Amiibo... Not that I feel any shame over it.)

  6. Can't wait to try the DLC, as I'm traveling for Thanksgiving right now. It still bothers me that Nintendo would release the DLC today, of all days, in North America.

    1. I'm warning you right now: if you're interested in the Adventure map, PLEASE go in with very high levels. Apparently even trash mobs can break through Sheik's water shield in one hit and deal at least one heart of damage on top of that. Not to mention all the unique traits of that map, such as enemies not showing up on the battlefield map on squares covered with twilight. Consensus is that in terms of difficulty, it picks up where the end of the Master Quest map left off.

    2. No worries. My Link is level 99 and everyone else is at least 65, with most of them being in the 70s. Plus, I still have a ton to do in both previous Adventure maps, so worst case scenario, I still have productive grinding spots. I also have 2.5 million rupees saved up and way too many stored materials, so Twili Midna will be up to par or close to it with everyone else before I even test her out.
