Someone needs to get their act together, and I don't know who.

So in the last few days, I've had YouTube videos load, but refuse to play for whatever reason. It's not every video, just a few, but they NEVER play. Apparently this has been a common problem lately... for Chrome users with AMD graphics cards. I use Firefox with a Geforce card. And Explorer isn't working either. The usual troubleshooting method for the aforementioned Chrome/AMD users is to turn off hardware acceleration, but obviously it's not working for me since the problem is somewhere else. Neither does deleting the cache and the cookies, for that matter. I figured out a way to watch the videos anyway by downloading them through KeepVid, but I'm really hoping this issue goes away eventually.

Any ideas?

  1. I use Chrome and whenever that sort of thing happens, clearing the cache or cookies can help. Maybe try doing that?

  2. Yeah, I had to turn off hardware acceleration (by right clicking on the video, hitting settings, and de-checking 'Enable hardware acceleration') last time this happened to me (I say last time because it happens ever half a year or so. YouTube sucks.).

  4. I always reset my computer when something like this happens. But judging by your situation, I doubt it'll work.

  5. Have you downloaded a addon or programm recently? That could have loaded a toolbar on your firefox that makes it glitchy.

    1. No, I always make extra sure to turn off crap that comes with other programs. Besides, those videos don't work in IE either, so the problem's not with the browser.

    2. Have you tryed to restard your internet router? I sometimes had the bug that I could skype with others but all my internet browsers wouldn't work. Restarting the router however helped out.

    4. Okay this is strange. Which system is your computer running on, Windows 7/8, Linux or iOS? If it's Windows probably rebooting the system could help since it sucks more the longer you use it continuously. I would also try running Advance System Care over your computer. The program has a free version and you can detect a lot of problems in cache or unused data which will be fixed (it restores your browser settings to), gets essential windows updates and defrags you hard drive too (uncheck this if you're using an SSD!) I would first give that program a try and then probably restore your windows.

    5. Windows 7. And I always turn the computer off when I leave the house or go to sleep, I don't leave it on 24/7.

    6. Oh, and I've tried that program you mentioned. It did a crapload of stuff, but nothing to solve this particular problem.

    7. Oh sorry I wasn't precisely with rebooting I meant to reinstal it. Windows seems to turn larger and more bugy the longer you use it so reinstaling your license like once a year could probably help out.
