Gen 2 Snorlax gets buffed 15 years after release

On simulator play, anyway. It's recently been discovered that stat drops are calculated a bit differently in the first two gens, and you can see the details here. It seems like it would be a fairly minor detail, but it ends up breaking some speed ties when Curse is involved. The most obvious and common example being -1 Skarmory against Belly Drum Snorlax; whereas both used to be tied at 158 in simulator play, -1 Skarmory clocks in at 157 in reality. It's not huge, mind you, but it's a little extra edge for the fatty, who quite frankly didn't need it.

  1. I wonder how this difference went un-noticed for such a long period of time?

And the next question is: when will Snorlax get the buff it needs. It's been on a decline since the 4th generation.

    1. That would require something getting nerfed...Oooor Mega Snorlax...

    2. Maybe Normal/Fighting type Mega Snorlax.

    3. Fighting? If I was trying to think of a Pokémon that could gain a Fighting type through a mega, Snorlax would be among my last guesses. It doesn't look the part at all.

    4. Maybe they could give Snorlax a giant ghost mouth or freaking Jason's mask and have him Ghost type

    5. Or maybe its fat becomes incredibly dense and it becomes part Steel? Hey, it already gets wrecked by Fighting anyway, so why not?

    6. How about it starts to roll like a boulder and gains Rock typing?
Actually, that would suck big time.

    7. Sumo wrestling Fighting Snorlax though?

    8. That would work actually. We have a Sumo Wrestler fighting type already in Hariyama. However if that was to happen, Snorlax would need to learn some more Fighting type moves. It does get Superpower from tutors, but that as a level up move along with a Mega Evolution would help a lot

    9. I was gonna say just nerf some of the more used Fighting moves...

    10. I've been saying all along that they should've nerfed the best physical moves like they did the best special ones. Maybe in gen 7...?

  2. It could also use a move like Slack-Off. Imagine if the guy who picked the moves Pokemon could learn had aimed a little differently at the dartboard and Snorlax got Recover. Imagine GSC Snorlax with instant recovery.

  3. Remember when you made that joke about Google saying Google Chrome was made out of the combined genes of Jesus Christ and Chuck Norris and Firefox is the devil in Pokémon Crystal? Well up to now every browser supports Youtubes 60 fps - except Firefox...

    1. I can't tell the difference between 30 and 60 anyway, so I wouldn't have been the one to figure it out.
