So apparently Ash is a really good trainer.

That's not me saying it either, I've seen a few people actually say that after the latest anime episode where his Pikachu takes down a Mega Lucario. Yeah, right. The thing is, for every epic victory Ash's Pikachu has under its belt, it also has at LEAST one of these. There's a good reason why that win against a Latios + loss against a level 5 Snivy sequence has reached memetic status. That Pikachu is as consistent as the Hershey squirts of a person with Crohn's disease. A good trainer doesn't let that happen.

  1. They really should find a new protagonist. You'd get to show off the new Pokemon without asking why they don't just bring their powerhouses from the previous region to steamroll everything. Besides, it's not like Ash is gonna catch them all OR become the best...

    1. There's a vocal minority of people who want Pokemon Adventures translated into being the anime, good thing is a new set of protagonists and antagonists each saga

    2. To be fair, it probably would be better than watching Ash fail, yet befriend the resident Legendaries. Though doesn't it get rather dark at times there?...

    3. It's only you know super dark at the latter parts of the RBGY and GSC sagas, rest is fairly fine for children

    4. It's really not any worse than Legend of Korra or Digimon. It's dark, but there's nothing that a child would be scarred by.

  2. For a show that's supposed to have some continuity, Ash is the most inconsistent character ever. Sometimes he's got lots of skill and other times he thinks water is weak to fire. It's like watching an 8 year-old learn how to tie his shoes, forget, learn again, and forget in an infinite cycle.

    1. Really? 8 year-olds learning about shoe-laces are more consistent than Ash. I'd love to meet someone who actually takes the show seriously.

  3. I didn't watch much of it, but Ash actually seemed pretty cool in Hoenn and Sinnoh. In the Sinnoh league he actually used a lot of his good pokemon. Too bad Dawn and Piplup were so annoying.

  4. It was Sceptile that took down Darkrai not Pikachu
