Do Kyogre and Groudon have naked pics on iCloud?

Because those Gamefreak devs seem to be having a huge hard-on for them. Not only do their Primal forms appear to have perma-weather and boosted stats, they also get NEW SIGNATURE MOVES. We don't know any details at the moment, but really? They stop dominating for a minute and you buff them so hard it's going to take another six gens for a new legendary to match them?

  1. Wonder if it'll be as omnipresent as Scarfed Water Spout competitively...

  2. Could it be remotely possible that these two are so powerful that they get banned from Ubers? Regardless, it does make you wonder, what IF certain Pokemon got banned even from Ubers?

    1. Mega Gengar might go sometime today, actually. More because of Shadow Tag taking out the skill element than because of actual power, though, so Kyogre and Groudon will probably be staying regardless.

  3. Something of note in the trailer that was shown recently is the cutscene of Kyogre and Groudon awakening in front of the protagonist. They then went through that Ancient Devolution thing ( Which I see as glorified Mega Evolution as of now ). Could this mean that we may end up seeing wild Mega pokemon?

    1. Then they'd need to backpedal something fierce on that whole thing about mega evolution being based on the bond between trainer and Pokémon. I mean, how can there be mega evolution without a trailer? This may well be the all-important lore difference between Primal and Mega.

    2. If that's the case then it would imply that Kyogre and Groudon could not only remain Primal outside of battle but be able to hold an item as well, which could be utterly brutal if that was the case.

Though the lore on Mega pokemon needing to bond with the trainer falls flat when you realise friendship has no impact on Mega Evolution on a coding level. It could also mean that a wild pokemon holding a mega stone could react to your Mega item if you mega-evolve your own pokemon, simultaneously mega-evolving the wild pokemon. Up against a Mawile, you could end up screwing yourself if it's holding Mawilite.

    3. Maybe from a scientific perspective, the Poke Balls emit a signal, and the Mega Stones emit a counteracting signal when the Mega Ring is activated. As for the Primal Formes...Maybe it's because of the Orbs?...

    4. It's also worth mentioning that Archie and Maxie both have their mega evolution triggers. Maybe it's related?

    5. The cutscene shows Kyogre and Groudon in the depths of the Cave of Origin though. The crystals give that away. Also, the animation for Kyogre and Groundon "Ancient De-volving" is almost identical to a Mega Evolution scene. The only difference I can spot is that the shape surrounding them as it happens is a lighter shade.

    6. Red and Blue Orbs to become Groudonite and Kyogrite? Except Archie and Maxie take the wrong orbs, so maybe Blue Orb/"Kyogrite" causes Groudon to "devolve" into Primal Groudon, and vice-versa for Kyogre and "Groudonite".

The two have a pathological hatred for each other, so maybe it's not just a fancy word for "Mega Evolution" in the sense that they become stronger from hidden potential. But an actual "Devolution" in that they regress to the primordial thoughts of "don't stop until one of us is dead". The stat boosts? Adrenal overload. Their superpowers go into overdrive to make the opposite power go away.

Or maybe it -is- just a fancy word for Mega Evolution and they're able to do it out of battle as Wild Pokemon to show us that shit's getting real.

    7. Two problems with that.

Firstly, if it was true, then Kyogre and Groudon would have both a Mega AND a Primal form, and while that's possible I think it would have been announced by now.

Secondly, in the story of Ruby and Sapphire, the bad guys get the wrong orb and you're given the correct orb and later use the correct orb to 'tame' the rampaging Legendary, at which it battles you. So the scene in the Cave of Origin shown would have been triggered by the Blue orb for Kyogre and the Red orb for Groudon

    8. Alternatively you're both wrong because the Blue Orb is the right one for Groudon and the Red Orb is the right one for Kyogre.

I'm sorry, did you miss how Groudon awakens when BLUE NEON LINES go over him because the BLUE ORB was activated? And how Kyogre wakes up with RED NEON LINES running over after the RED ORB is used?

The reason Archie and Maxie then cannot control Groudon and Kyogre is because they set the initial mission as "destroy the water" or "destroy the land" and they decide to do it, and then it doesn't work later because either Maxie/Archie aren't able to fully harness the orbs or because the two are fighting and ignoring everything else.

    9. They'll awaken with either Orb. Whether they want to "test" you ala Reshiram and Zekrom (HGSS) or find their opposite and destroy them (RSE) depends on the Orb used. That's my interpretation...

    10. That's mine too. If you show them the wrong orb, which is the embodiment of their mortal enemy's power of sorts, they'll just go apeshit and say, "RRRRAAAAAAWWWWRR!!! KYOGRE!!! I SENSE YOU!!! I WILL DESTROY YOU!!!"

Bottom line is, if Maxie and Archie didn't screw up and pick the wrong orb, they would've had a legitimate chance at controlling Groudon and Kyogre.

    12. Oh man, sounds like I missed something. I probably should go check out that Emerald LP real quick...

    13. That was the SoulSilver LP if I recall correctly. Last episode. Good times man.

    14. It originated in Emerald, though.

  4. Kyogre has always been the very best. My theory is that Kyogre is bitter and struck a deal with Groudon, and the two held the climate (and the world) hostage in return for Gamefreak to give them ultimate power.

    1. Kyogre was worse in RSE, though.

    2. Well to be more precise, Kyogre was better solo, but sun teams were more varied, you could use the likes of Ho-Oh and Exeggutor and be successful, and that was what gave Groudon the edge at the end of the day.

  5. CoroCoro revealed Mega Camerupt, Mega Sharpedo and Mega Gallade today, along with Primal Kyogre and Primal Groudon's abilities.

Primal Kyogre gets "Sea of Beginnings", which causes "Strong Rain"
Primal Groudon gets "Land of Endings", which causes "Strong Sunlight"

Presumably the "Strong" version is pretty much the indefinite version Drizzle and Drought used to have. Also more alpha-omega symbolism in the names, huzzah.
