Well, Pachirisu guy qualified for the single-elimination phase. It would be beyond amazing if he took the whole damn thing.
*qualified for the finals
I've seen Gliscor being hyped for banning on GameFAQs lately because of a random post from a user that had joined Smogon in the last few days.
Fucking Gliscor? If those GameFAQs bush-league amateur-hour cretins can't beat fucking Gliscor, there's a goddamn problem in their tiny brains.
Okay, looking into it, at least most people saw it was a fake, though the bitching about how Smogon would never ban anything that helps stall really pisses me off. The reason why they never do is because stall is woefully underpowered.
And who's fault is that? GAMEFREAK. Instead of putting in at least SOME more effort to improve stall(and the defensive play-style in general) enough to make it as viable as offense(I'm pretty sure we don't want a repeat of Gen 2), what do they do? LOWER the base power of reliable and high-risk, high-reward moves and call it a day. Sigh.... My fears of Steel being one of the new worst types may have been misguided completely, but this is another matter entirely. Don't get me wrong. I DON'T want the franchise to become purely offensive-based EVEN THOUGH I really like sweepers, but that decision wasn't what was going to solve the problem. I know you, Slowflake, like tanks much more and I DO respect that, but please don't think all of the more offensive players hate stall(AKA Why I love Milotic, Suicune, etc.). I realize that it could much worse, but if stall is underpowered despite the decisions they made this generation, then what does that say?
Hey, I'm not blaming anyone, and I'm not broadly generalizing. I'm saying people who hate stall just for the sake of hating stall tick me off, not that all offensive players have that kind of philosophy.Anyway, I think nerfing special moves was a band-aid solution at best, but it was still better than doing nothing. Problem is, now they HAVE to do the same for physical moves.
I know that you didn't say that all offensive players have that kind of philosophy. That's the thing, though. It may be just me being paranoid and pessimistic(I'd be very willing to admit it if it's the case), but saying it was still better than doing nothing is like telling the average student it's better to do a little homework than not do anything at all. Yeah, it's true they'll get some credit, but you can't hide that it'll still be a poor performance. I apologize if I seem to be hanging on to a lost cause. I do realize that whatever changes Gamefreak makes in the games is law, but I can't help feeling like it doesn't have to be this way.
Maybe I just need someone to convince me that it's not THAT bad.
Hey, I'm guilty of that too, for a while I thought making damage rolls lower (such as between 0.75 and 0.90 instead of between 0.85 and 1) was something they should do.No, what they REALLY need to do is: 1. Make some defensive megas that will neither not get used (Sableye) or get banned (Diancie?). Since they've gone on a Magic Bounce binge, do the same with Regenerator. 2. This is for gen 7, but REALLY focus on making more, more creative defensive abilities to give new Pokémon and megas, and more moves to expand the options of defensive Pokémon. Just giving Pokémon defensive stat spreads won't accomplish much. I mean, despite the increased emphasis on defensive stats among gen 6 Pokémon, only Sylveon is enjoying some degree of success. Even Goodra isn't that good, and Florges has no reason to exist anywhere Sylveon can be found.
On a related note, Showdown's random team generator sometimes gives Fan Rotom an Air Balloon.Who says competitive players don't have a sense of humor?
I definitely haven't been keeping up with the Competitive Pokemon community recently but wow, what basis do these people have for wanting a ban
Being GameFAQs forum users and not having a clue about why some Pokémon are banned and others aren't.... What else? Heck, someone else on GameFAQs actually wanted Rayquaza to be tested to see if it should be demoted to OU!
Hm? What happened to casuals wanting Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, Suicune, Raikou, Entei, Regirock, Registeel, Regice, Regigigas, Uxie, Mesprit, Azelf, Cresselia, Heatran, Terrakion, Cobalion, Virizion, Latios, Latias, Tornadus, and Thundurus banned because they're Legendaries. Hell, they'd absolutely love hearing about Kyurem, Black Kyurem, and Zygarde. Granted, GameFAQS and consistency go about as well together as relish and peanut butter, but someone actually thinks Rayquaza isn't broken just because most Ice moves can take it out?...
Oh, and Landorus...
@Ness Prower Sadly, YES. Granted, Weavile is scary for non-Yache Berry Dragon/Ground or Dragon/Flying Pokémon, but that's WHY you need to have counters. These "people", sometimes.....
