Two more unused moves datamined

And lo and behold, both are also hidden in Serebii's Attackdex.

Both are physical Ground-type moves with 90 power and 100 accuracy, but especially interesting are their added effects. Thousand Arrows hits fliers, levitators, Magnet Rise/Air Balloon users, etc. and neuters their Ground immunity on top of that. Meanwhile, Thousand Waves traps whichever Pokémon is hit. Clearly both are very dangerous moves that could turn the metagame upside down if they're ever given to good Pokémon, especially many of them.

Now the big question is, who are these meant for? You'd expect such rare Ground moves to be given to Ground-types, but none of the event Pokémon are, and neither are Eternal Flower Floette and Mega Lati@s. This leaves one logical conclusion... Zygarde. Whether it gets an alternate form or not, these moves would certainly make up for the disappointment Land's Wrath is. Oh, by the way, guess which move is a physical Ground move with 90 power and 100 accuracy?

Edit: Turns out this is only news for me. No one thought it'd be a good idea to tell me?

  1. Maybe they will have two squeals like with gen 5, and each move will be exclusive to Zygarde in each version.

    1. Hopefully that's not the case, X/Y's story was lousy enough that it needs to be revisited more than expanded upon. It feels a lot more like D/P than it did BW1, at any rate.

    2. I would actually want them to do that because, I would rather have them sell me a new game instead of them selling me the same game with a few new bells and whistles.

As for the story, it is like extra credit to me, it can count for the game, but not against it. The gameplay is the main course anyway.

  2. I'm confused. Haven't we known about these for a long, long time? I definitely knew about them at least a couple of months ago, and I thought they were confirmed for Zygarde too, though that may have just been speculation I heard. I'm willing to bet, rather than for events, they will have something to do with Zygarde in the deluxe version(s). Perhaps this is an indication that we'll get dual versions again.

  3. Haven't we known these for like a month? I remember them making the rounds and smogon thought they were Volcanion moves because the hackers threw the mvoes on them.

  4. What is your opinion on Registeel in RSE?

    1. I know you want Slowflake's opinion, but I think it is useless in game, but has some use competitively (Under used). If you want a good steel type in RSE then go for Skarmory.

    2. Iron Head didn't even exist back then. Nope nope nope.

  5. Don't worry Slow, I had no idea these were a thing either...
And now I feel stupid. I'm usually on top of these things.

Well, looking forward to Zygarde's inevitable alternate forms at least. Still don't understand why regular Zygarde had to be made a piece of crap in the process though. This is exactly how I felt about Kyurem before its alternates were unveiled. I hope Zygarde's alternates are able to KILL EVERYTHING. It deserves it after putting up with being a piece of crap.

  6. Nobody told you because you told people not to tell you about Pokemon news because you probably already know about it. I'm pretty sure you said this back when you made LPs. People were just listening to what you told them.

    1. Huh. Well I can see how that'd be a problem then. Especially with a lot less people around and the fact that, unlike just about all Pokémon news, no major site has brought this up.

  7. I'm not sure if you already heard about this, but apparently some of the high-ups at Project Pokémon have (finally) decrypted the XY ROM, so the game will likely be datamined of everything before long.

That said, they seem to be reluctant to release their tools/the decrypted files (probably fearing legal retribution from Nintendo)...can't really say I'm surprised in this day and age, people at GBAtemp were worried about that possibility too.
