Tropical Freeze eargasm

With DKC5's release right around the corner, we get to see and hear more of all kinds of media for the game. And just like its predecessor, it features many remixes of songs from the SNES trilogy, such as these. And here's a closer look at the brand new Aquatic Ambience, for your hearing pleasure. (Yep, swimming levels make a return, after being completely absent from DKC4.) I'm really hoping to see Mining Melancholy get remixed. Can you humor me just this once, Retro?

  2. Too bad I took the decision of not buying any single other sidescroller than Kirby games for monetary reasons, because it really does look like a very well-made game.

    1. You can always buy it used later down the line and save some money that way. That's what I often end up doing, since I rarely buy games at or near launch.

    3. That I do. I'm still pissed that Diamond and Pearl launched right before my last ever finals week. As if being so close to being done with that FOREVER wasn't painful enough...

Here's the fixed comment: "This is most likely stating the obvious, but Pokémon games are one of the few, if not THE, exceptions to that statement, right? What am I talking about? Of course it is! Mind you, there's nothing wrong with that, as we all know."
Anyway, as for me, I was still in the second half of the first semester of my junior year when B2/W2 launched. Since I have 2 AP courses, it was obvious that I would have little time to play even one of the games. I actually started another New Game very early into the game because, to me, it just felt wrong to have the start date and "Hall of Fame Debut" date be so far apart from each other.

    5. You're right, I should probably do that, but it won't happen for a big while, because since games are so few on the Wii U, the good ones tend to not be brought back to stores at all.

Also, there's a special advertisement campaign exclusive to Canada as far as I know for some reasons... They pretended like they dug up a big wooden box with Tropical Freeze's Vikings's logo on it and are making a big deal out of it. I wonder what it's all about. They wouldn't go to such lengths to announce a game in a single country like this while ignoring the others.

    6. I have bad memories of B2/W2 coming out during an exam period for me too.

  3. The songs sound awesome but I never really got into the new Donkey Kong Country. Its a good platformer but it just feels so different from the originals. I'm sure if I got the game instead of playing it a few times casually at a friends I would warm up to it but I prefer the mechanics of the old games better.

PS playing Donkey Kong Country and not fighting the Kremlings and K.Rool just feels wrong somehow ;)

    1. But if you analyze the situation from another perspective, always fighting the Kremlings and K.Rool would make the series as repetitive as New Super Mario Bros. I personally welcome some fresh blood for Nintendo's library of villains.

    2. Look at it this way: Link doesn't always fight Ganondorf either.
