Serebii confirms Diancie stats and movepool

They weren't there a few days ago when I checked, so this is a recent development. Thanks to Looneyman for bringing this to my attention!

The stats are exactly what was expected after those screenshots from a while ago, just Carbink's with 50 more to both attack stats. Predictably, the level-up movepool is a copypaste of Carbink's, with Diamond Storm added at level 50. The added effect rate is also confirmed to be 50%, which is pretty decent all things considered. On the TM front, moves that Diancie gets but not Carbink include Psyshock, Hyper Beam and Giga Impact. Woo hoo, get ready to storm ubers with this thing! And in a strange twist of events, Carbink gets Torment and Trick Room but not Diancie. What. It's especially sad considering Carbink actually USES Trick Room.

So, are you disappointed, disappointed or disappointed? I'm not sure whether I'm disappointed or disappointed myself.

Edit: I just realized Diancie learns Trick Room through level-up, but (allegedly) not through TM. So I'm just going to assume Serebii screwed up somewhere and it keeps Torment too.

Edit 2: This presence of Trick Room in the level-up movepool comes at a cost, though: Power Gem. So maybe Serebii messed everything up and it gets Power Gem at level 46, but not Trick Room at all? Not impossible, since the only other Pokémon that gets Trick Room by level-up is PorygonZ, and it makes sense in that case since it fits its dimensional travel flavor.

  1. Slow gonna make a blog about twitch plays pokemon?
    It's stupidity is beyond belief.

    1. He already did. Just look down a few posts. Just because he's watching from afar doesn't mean he absolutely has to keep us updated.
By the way, you mentioned TPP without praising the almighty Helix Fossil. You shouldn't have done that. (Just kidding, but seriously, what was meant to be a joke is growing to terrifying proportions right now.)

    2. Just like Steve. And people are going to demand Twitch about it, just like Steve.

    3. The nerve of you non-believers. This idea is GENIUS, and the run pure magic, even if it's not a good idea to watch for more than a few minutes at a time.

    4. The idea is genius, if you're an alcoholic.

    5. To me, the idea is one of those amazing idea that is fascinating and memorising to watch the chaos unfold, but watching it for too long is utterly painful.

    6. And what's the meaning of the video anyway? Is it a joke? Who's it aimed towards?

    7. It's not just the stream either, part of the fun is to see some of the content created by people who follow this. This is what puts it so far above and beyond stuff like Steve - people are actually being SMART about what to do to sustain the meme for as long as possible. (As if Chugga zombies were difficult to outsmart, but still.)

    8. What I find the most fascinating is their attempt to co-ordinate their efforts to a common goal. They're starting to come up with plans to buff their team further, which involves getting the Earthquake and Ice Beam TM's and training up in Cinnabar Island.

    9. Wait a second... "people are going to demand Twitch about it" ? That makes absolutely no sense because Twitch isn't a single person. I think it's fairly clear you don't really understand what it's all about. It even got in the news and is becoming a fairly big turning point in gaming history. Sure, it's not entertaining to watch for too long, but it does have its priceless moments.

    10. Serves me right for commenting early in the morning (7 AM by British standards). What I was referring to was that people are going to be posting "Helix Fossil" on random shit hosted on Twitch. I have watched some of the stream a week ago and it was as painful as Slow's original post was hyping.

Oh snap! Turning point, that means, everyone is going to start doing this play-style.

    11. Oh, then I apologize. I made that assumption because it wouldn't have been the first time I saw people not knowing what Twitch is. Don't worry though, the first one is interesting because not only is it a new concept, but it's also stated to be a social experiment. I'm really curious to see for what purpose, so it's the actual reason why I'm so interested in that playthrough.

    12. It's probably just for the creator's kicks. You're very likely to be disappointed in that regard.

Either way, I feel like this is the best thing that's happened to the internet in years. Literally. And I'm using the word "literally" literally too. We've become so accustomed to seeing the internet hit low after low after low after low, that to see tens of thousands of people cooperating to pull off the seemingly impossible, while getting a huge kick out of it, being surprisingly creative with the content they make, and just gritting their teeth with all the determination in the world when things go sour. They're just not giving up, even when it seems like it could take a whole week to reach suitable levels to get through Victory Road.

  2. I don't even know how Dianice will preform but the difference of it's HP and defenses seem to be very far, I mean Base 50 HP? Ouch that will not help. It seems to be a decent trick roomer at this point

    1. If it even gets it. It makes no sense that it wouldn't get Power Gem.

    2. Rock is becoming more and more in dire need of a good special move... Power Gem is decent now that its power was raised, but its distribution is so pitiful. I was really hoping Diamond Storm would be special. I have no idea what Game Freak was thinking when they decided against it...

    3. Why were you hoping Diamond Storm would be special? The screenshot that first leaked its existence specifically said it was physical... with that said, here's how they could've saved Diancie in two steps. First, make Diamond Storm special. Second, give it Serene Grace. Then watch chaos unfold.

    4. Considering how I'm already loving Carbink despite its mediocrity, it would have made me use one for sure.
And I was hoping it was a mistake due to the first screenshot being made with hacks. Who knows ? Maybe the hacking could have made an error in the coding... Because I believed there was no way the attack could really be physical, it made no sense. (And it still doesn't...)

    5. Diamond storm sounds like one of those things that would come off special attack and hit physically. Judging from the disappointment, I guess not. Ancient Power and Power Gem is not enough. We need some more crystalline beam attacks in pokemon. Chargestone Cave looked like the perfect place to add a levitating electric/rock pokemon, but such a creature does not exist (yet).
