I wouldn't really consider myself a fan persay, but I do like the character, and I wouldn't mind if Nintendo did more with him than a sports game character (How do those keep selling?). That being said I'm not flipping my shit like some people because he was (as predicted) confirmed as an assist trophy.
Brandon => Children. There's your answer. To be honest, the only Mario sport game I still care about is Golf. I might get the one coming for the 3DS if I feel like it, because I like golf games, but I hate how bland and boring the ones based on reality are. Mario Power Tennis was pretty good too, but they ruined it with its Wii re-release. (Seriously, if you re-release a GameCube game with motion controls added, at least give us the option to use a GameCube controller like it originally required, come on !)
But an assist trophy isn't a playable character! RAGE!
I see the problem with Waluigi here. He hasn't been playable in anything other than party games, so there's no main template to draw from to figure out how he should play as a fighter. Wario didn't get added in until after those wario ware games, and before that he would have been another mario/luigi clone. I don't see Waluigi being a Wario clone or a Mario clone. He'd be something different, but I don't know what (give him sports and mario party attacks?). He's a weird character to figure out.
All of a sudden, we may see Floette being a viable choice in OU, specifically AZ's Floette. Hackers have found it has a very strong signature move, a special Fairy type move with 140 base power, 90 accuracy that causes recoil, and possibly it has different base stats too.
As an addition, Serebii.net actually has the data for AZ's Floette, known as the Eternal Flower Floette, and it does indeed have different base stats. It's geared towards special attacking, though it could really use a bit more speed than it gets.
Happy birthday, Slowflake! It is today, right?
ReplyDeleteIt was. Happy birthday! (one day late...)

ReplyDeleteHe was in Brawl as an assist trophy so why are people making a fun about him here?
DeleteBecause they lack two brain cells to rub together.

I can't speak for the wii games, but Baseball and Soccer on the cube are absolutely fantastic MP games, and golf and tennis are always good.

DeleteI like Waluigi too. I always played him in Mario Tennis and the Mario Party games.
ReplyDeleteAt least it's not Daisy they're complaining about.
ReplyDeleteExpecting people to like a different character?
ReplyDeleteTOO BAD. WALUIGI TIME.
