I remember the Battle Palace being one of the first facilities I got a silver symbol from, actually. I managed to sweep Tucker with a Gardevoir that had Hypnosis, Dream Eater, Future Sight, and Psychic. No, I didn't make that zard-tard-esque set just for the Battle Palace--I actually thought it was a good set at the time and used it in many of the battle facilities. I never ended up getting the gold symbol for the Battle Palace, but I guess the whole prejudice against actually decent sets unknowingly worked in young stupid me's favor XD
To be fair, I still think Hugh is more likable than Silver pre-HeartGold/SoulSilver, where he was just an asshole for the sake of being one without any reason and backstory or whatsoever. I'd mention Hoenn too, but I don't remember any character that would qualify as a rival in those games. :P It might be because I developed some kind of "immunity" to characters completely obsessed with their one purpose over time or something. They just don't bother me at all for some reasons.
It was still funny. And considering the guy literally has MONSTER COACH on his thing in Y, I'm sure he'll get a kick out of it. My thing in Y references Touhou...
Yes. He did. Have we mentioned that Slow loves that expert translation? It's not in all caps, though. Mine's less a awesome to a non-Touhou fan. U.N. Owen is Me!...
Similar thing happened for me, I had a Quagsire against a magmar and Quagsire kept using ice beam
ReplyDeleteSomeone told me a horror story of a Sceptile losing to a Swampert because it would never ever EVER use Leaf Blade.

ReplyDeleteAll I've ever done in the Battle Frontier was the Battle Castle in Platinum. Seriously, who's idea was this?
ReplyDeleteand the person who thought Lumiose would be easy to navigate and Hugh was a likable character.
DeleteHugh is the BEST character! He gave his little sister her Liepard after you did the work to get it back!

At least with Silver you were meant to hate him. I deleted the last comment due to a grammar mistake.
DeleteHate Silver? How? He is the most attractive male... scratch that, most attractive character in pokemon!
DeleteErr, he steals a Pokemon, commits 8 bit violence and took the last custard cream out of the packet.
DeleteAnd he wants to be a MONSTER COACH. THE FIRST MANKIND ALL OVER THE WORLD...
Delete(jokingly) That's not Silver. He speaks in all caps...

DeleteThe McRoll. The original is better, of course. At least you get the joke...
DeleteMy current tagline is "Filling Pokédex" though my previous one was "Cosmic", a reference to my favorite show Only Fools and Horses (not aired in USA).
DeleteOne of mine is, "For Gensokyo!" The one on the 3DS Friend List is, "For Flandre!!!!!"
