Who greenlighted the Battle Palace?

No, really. Who thought THIS was a good idea? Probably the same imbecile who came up with the Neon Colosseum, I bet.

  1. It really says something when a battle facility that doesn't have luck as its theme is actually more luck based than the actual luck themed facility itself. Your sweeper(s) are required to have a Hardy nature just so they can have the best probability of attacking! This is no test of spirit! This is a test of how well you can counter bad luck!

  2. Similar thing happened for me, I had a Quagsire against a magmar and Quagsire kept using ice beam

    1. Someone told me a horror story of a Sceptile losing to a Swampert because it would never ever EVER use Leaf Blade.

    2. One of the big problems is that every time your Pokémon can attack, the move that is chosen is completely random. It doesn't matter how effective the move is against the opposition; if the RNG chooses that move, it'll be used no matter what. It made your Quagsire look like a complete idiot!

  3. I remember the Battle Palace being one of the first facilities I got a silver symbol from, actually. I managed to sweep Tucker with a Gardevoir that had Hypnosis, Dream Eater, Future Sight, and Psychic. No, I didn't make that zard-tard-esque set just for the Battle Palace--I actually thought it was a good set at the time and used it in many of the battle facilities. I never ended up getting the gold symbol for the Battle Palace, but I guess the whole prejudice against actually decent sets unknowingly worked in young stupid me's favor XD

    1. I know what you mean. When I was around 11 years old in 2008-09, I used a Walrein because I thought that Tucker wouldn't stand a chance against it, considering his Silver symbol team. Its moveset was Surf, Ice Beam, Body Slam, and Rock Slide. This was also the time when I thought using 10 EV boosting vitamins on 5 stats was a great idea ^_^;
I ended up destroying Tucker with that Walrein. Though, to be fair, his A.I selected Counter for 1-2 turns before using Earthquake, but even that didn't do much damage, since I believe Walrein had a Bold nature. I think my Walrein's health didn't even reach the danger level.

  4. All I've ever done in the Battle Frontier was the Battle Castle in Platinum. Seriously, who's idea was this?

    1. It's probably the same person who thought Pokémon Contests and Musicals were going to be extremely fun and popular(no offense to anyone who actually likes them). P.S Sorry about quickly removing my comment from above. I didn't put the word "and" between fun and popular.

    2. and the person who thought Lumiose would be easy to navigate and Hugh was a likable character.

    3. Hugh is the BEST character! He gave his little sister her Liepard after you did the work to get it back!

    4. To be fair, I still think Hugh is more likable than Silver pre-HeartGold/SoulSilver, where he was just an asshole for the sake of being one without any reason and backstory or whatsoever. I'd mention Hoenn too, but I don't remember any character that would qualify as a rival in those games. :P
It might be because I developed some kind of "immunity" to characters completely obsessed with their one purpose over time or something. They just don't bother me at all for some reasons.

    5. At least with Silver you were meant to hate him. I deleted the last comment due to a grammar mistake.

    6. Hate Silver? How? He is the most attractive male... scratch that, most attractive character in pokemon!

    7. Err, he steals a Pokemon, commits 8 bit violence and took the last custard cream out of the packet.

    8. And he wants to be a MONSTER COACH. THE FIRST MANKIND ALL OVER THE WORLD...

    9. "I am very disgusted with the trashy man. In spite of the monster, and the coach, only trashy, I will beat down them all. For this I must strengthen myself. The monster is the same too, collect all the trashy, righteous fellow are all unpardonable. You don't affect me. The trashy strolling is an eyesore."

    10. (jokingly) That's not Silver. He speaks in all caps...

    11. I know. I didn't think that it would affect the hilarity of the quote. I just didn't want annoy anyone by using all caps. Then again, I think that Slowflake wouldn't have minded, considering where said quote comes from.

    12. It was still funny. And considering the guy literally has MONSTER COACH on his thing in Y, I'm sure he'll get a kick out of it. My thing in Y references Touhou...

    13. Wait, seriously? I haven't been able to be online at the same time he is, so I don't have Slow included in the Friends List in Y yet. But still, he actually put MONSTER COACH as his message?! *snickers to himself*

    14. Yes. He did. Have we mentioned that Slow loves that expert translation? It's not in all caps, though. Mine's less a awesome to a non-Touhou fan. U.N. Owen is Me!...

    15. Oh, that has already been established for quite some time now. Speaking of U.N Owen, I discovered U.N Owen Was Her?! by complete accident when I was around 13 in 2010 on YouTube. I've even seen some crossover remixes, including that one Japanese Ronald McDonald commercial where he said "RAN RAN RUU!!". As for the song itself, I found it to be somewhat catchy.

    17. My current tagline is "Filling Pokédex" though my previous one was "Cosmic", a reference to my favorite show Only Fools and Horses (not aired in USA).
