The Zelda fanbase does it again!

WAAH WAAH WAAH WE WANT A REAL ZELDA GAME NOT THIS BEAT-EM-UP CRAP. You know, because the last standard Zelda game came out SO LONG AGO. You already got a remake and a sequel this year, so stop whining, you self-entitled cretins. It's not like the Wii U Zelda game is getting canned in favor of this or anything.

Besides, wanna take bets on how it'll blow away all our expectations and be absolutely amazing? That's what Pokémon Conquest did, and if you're keeping track, both projects are handled by the exact same companies! (Remember, Nobunaga's Ambition and Samurai Warriors are closely related, and the latter is an offshoot of Dynasty Warriors. It's not impossible that there's a connection between both games, at least in business terms.)

  1. Wait...what? Zelda beat-em-up? That sounds somewhat interesting...

  2. I got the 3DS launch date Samurai Warriors and didn't really like it, mainly because the clerk said it was just like Zelda ironically. (though also because I had no idea what I was even doing in it) I just hope this crossover is as enjoyable and understandable as Conquest was.

  3. Well your first problem was playing a spectical fighter on a system with only one joystick.

  4. Eh, can't say it interests me, but I was never big on either beat-em-ups nor Zelda games. Still, if there's one thing that irritates me it's self-entitled video game fanboys. Anything that pisses them off is a bonus in my book.

  5. Tecmo Koei's Warriors game sell relatively poorly in the west. Now that they are given the opportunity to change this with having one of gaming's most beloved IP in their hands, hopefully this is a big enough incentive to them to make this game as high-quality as possible. Considering how Samurai Warriors 3 has been a guilty pleasure of mine ever since I bought it (Many fans see it as a step back from 2, but I never played that one, so...), I'll probably get "Hyrule Warriors" too.

    1. Wow, I made quite a few mistakes here... Kinda wish there was an "Edit" button, but oh well, at least it's still understandable.

  6. I'm looking forward to it, personally. It looks phenomenal, and I'm interested in fast-paced combat for a Zelda game. I've gotten to the point where the 3D Zeldas are slow enough to exert no challenge for me anymore, so this might be a nice change of pace.

    1. You clearly misunderstood EVERYTHING. Nintendo isn't even making the game. Tecmo Koei is. It's a spin-off which probably won't have anything to do with the main series's timeline. That's like trying to put Pokémon Conquest on the official Pokémon Timeline. (If such a thing even exists)
Also, the footage is clearly taken from a very early version of the game and it's still in development. The bokoblins's model are taken straight from Skyward Sword, it's painfully obvious. They just wanted to show us what the concept will be like. Did you even watch the Nintendo Direct ? Seriously, you just brought up a mash-up of all the misconceptions that were born from the backlash and tried to defend them. While a noble effort, it wasn't necessary at all. xD

    2. I deleted my old comment because you're right, it didn't make a lot of sense in the way I posted it and was pretty much unnecessary. I'll just sum up what I think of the announcement instead.

I only watched the teaser video. It is, however, being developed by both Nintendo and Tecmo Koei, this much I know.
Basically, what drives me nuts about teasers like this is that they're done too early in the development of the game, and don't showcase much of anything other than the cast of characters and basic gameplay. That, in turn, causes people to complain about the dumbest things and gives out some bad first impressions to some, because they don't realize that the game's in its early stages of creation. I'm sure the game will end up being pretty fun, hopefully it has some good multiplayer capability. Nintendo always excels in that department.

Anyways, I don't have a Wii U yet, but the combination of the upcoming Smash Brothers game in addition to this will be enough to make me get one.

    3. Now that makes much more sense. And I also agree with you. I guess Nintendo was quite in a hurry to give us news regarding Zelda for some reasons...
Personally, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate was a good enough reason to get a Wii U for me. I have dumped over a 1000 hours in that game. The fact that there weren't many other games worth playing just helped me focus on that particular one.

  8. Wow, from what I've seen people are pretty ecstatic for this new game. But maybe I'm not as versed in the Zelda community as you are. In any case anyone with a brain should realize what you've said: that there are plenty of Zelda games and it's cool if they want to go outside the box a little.

Personally I think it looks really awesome. All of the satisfaction of killing things put into one Zelda game!

  9. I'm guessing that Zelda has the worst fan base out of that, Mario and Metroid.

    1. Well, to be fair, Metroid's fanbase can be pretty bad too, but it didn't get nearly as bad as Zelda's... and also, Metroid fans had actually pretty good reasons to whine considering how "shaky" (and I'm being VERY generous and way too polite by saying just this) Metroid Other M's narrative was.
As far as Mario is concerned, he has done pretty much everything and as long as Nintendo don't make a generic FPS Mario game (Although I believe maybe a Mario Paintball game could potentially work, but I'm not seriously wanting such a thing), I think they'll be fine.

    2. If you want bad Metroid fans, just watch Slowflake reads Metroid High. Still, Zelda's fanbase still isn't as bad as Sonic's.

  10. Can't be worse than Wand of Gamelon and Faces of Evil.

  11. I was personally mind blown when I saw the trailer. So I'm extremely excited for this Zelda spin off game.
