Greg Sestero tears Tommy Wiseau apart

So the man behind the Mark character wrote a tell-all book, The Disaster Artist, about his strange relationship with the equally strange Tommy Wiseau. Unfortunately I don't have a copy on hand (hmm, my parents always complain that I never have enough Christmas gift suggestions... this gives me an idea), but you can check out its TVTropes page for some of the juicy tidbits it contains. (Don't forget the Awesome and Funny pages, either.) No one familiar with the movie should be surprised at any of this, because we should all have an inkling that Wiseau is just as out of touch with the real world as The Room let us in on. Then there's this piece, which elaborates a bit more on some aspects... and makes Wiseau look even more disturbing somehow. Now I really, really want that book, if only out of morbid curiosity.

  1. I am picking that book up for myself early next month. I am incredibly curious about its contents. This month's spending money went to the Link Between Worlds edition 3DS. That game is an absolute MASTERPIECE, by the way. If you haven't already, pick that game up ASAP. The soundtrack is so good, I'd consider it a spoiler to tell someone to listen to it before they play the game and hear it in the game's environment.

  2. I plan on buying the book for Christmas too, just so Sestero can get profit if the book I buy isn't second hand. Also my parents believe I don't ask for enough either.

  3. My problem is that my stuff apparently doesn't have enough variety (mostly video games). I'm remedying that with a wish for a Flandre Scarlet plushie this year, but I digress. I hope this book is at the nearest book store sooner or later...

  4. I just got the book (didn't know it existed till you said it). About a third of the way through. I have to say, I am familiar with a lot of shitty movies, but The Room is something that few could match its incompetence even if they tried. Like, having a modicum understanding of reality almost makes it impossible to get there. And we still don't know how old the guy is or where he's from (book says he can't be French due to lack of French knowledge but may be vaguely Austrian or Bulgarian. Anyway how is your sex life? [/non-sequitur quote ftw]

    1. Just judging from what I've heard about the book, the makers of the Flash game seem to have been bang on with that twist at the end about him being an alien sent to examine humans.

    2. Well close enough, 'cuz apparently Wiseau wanted to be a Benz driving vampire, which is kinda alien-esque. Would explain his goofy look and accent anyway. And yes, he considered being a vampire in his movie....sorry for the spoiler but that's in the depths of "can't make this shit up even if I wanted to". This book explains so much and yet answers little.
