Day 4: Filling in the blanks

First, here are the updated Pokédexes: Central, Coastal and Mountain. Note how there's no extra space for new Eeveelutions, thanks to Emolga. I myself couldn't care less, but some people will have found an extra reason to hate Emolga.

Also, Malamar's stats look... highly underwhelming. Between Topsy-Turvy and Contrary, they must've been afraid it'd break everything. This coming from the same guys who megavolved Blaziken, Garchomp AND possibly Excadrill. *sigh*

As usual, more will come, though it might be even more sporadic than in the last few days.

Edit: Not one, but TWO Grass/Ghost Pokémon. Me gusta.

Also, turns out the Exp. Share is just as gamebreaking as the interview let us in on... however, there's a catch. Note how no one has seen an Audino yet... yep, I'm under the impression that this is meant to replace Audino. Not sure I like, I'll have to use it myself to get a grip on its real usefulness.

Edit 2: Yesterday's mega evolution list is confirmed fake, with Mega Gyarados being a thing. For fuck's sake, Gamefreak, THESE GUYS DON'T NEED IT. I suppose it's a step up from Excadrill having one, but still. Also, the gyms appear to be Bug, Rock, Fighting, Grass, Fairy, Electric, Psychic and Ice, in that order. Yes, Fairy gets a gym before Dark does. Wut. By the way, the massive post I mentioned yesterday mentioned Audinos still being in the game. If so, it's really weird that the guy compiling the Pokédex still hasn't run into one yet.

Edit 3: As far as Audino goes, shaking grass as it was in gen 5 isn't around anymore, it was found in a shaking bush that was part of the scenery. This suggests that while Audino is available again, grinding off of it is no longer viable, hence the improved Exp. Share. Also, there's a rumor going around that I honestly believe is false, but if it happens to be true it will revolutionize the competitive Pokémon game forever. I'm not going to say what it is because I don't want to be accused of spreading false rumors (I'm already guilty of falling for that mega evolution list), and because I don't want to jinx it, but you probably know what I'm talking about.

Edit 4: In addition to the Exp. Share buff, all Pokémon that participate in battle now get the full amount (even without the Exp. Share involved), as opposed to splitting it. I wonder if the ease of leveling up will affect the level curve...

Edit 5: What looks like Clauncher's evolution has been found. Here's to hoping it can use Mega Launcher better than Mega Blastoise can...

Edit 6: Lots of new Pokémon right here! The biggest surprise is Doublade's evolution, Aegislash, having two forms, but I think it redeems the line after the disappointment I had with Doublade. We also finally have an English name for Oorotto... I always found it weird how they gave it a bunch of cameos in trailers without ever telling us anything about it.

Edit 7: Here's a quick recap of the Pokémon we know about thus far. We're already up to 67, so that 70 figure that was circulating lately is definitely fake. Still, calling the fact that we would have this few new Pokémon is pretty dang good, I think most of us expected at least a hundred.

  1. To be fair, it might be a poor IV'd catch with minimal EVs (if the alleged evolution method holds true it doesn't take much to evolve and I recall it getting caught fairly high a level). Not that the stats scream "must have" but I'll give it some benefit of the doubt. That said, the stats plus typing make it hard to use. But....the pokemon always struck me as something more suited for double/triple battles than singles anyway, so you have to look at it from that angle. Also, apparently a new grass/ghost pokemon (with space for evolution) based on a pumpkin. Not to gloat but I personally was hoping for a grass/ghost pumpkin thing for a while.

  2. I wonder if the Grass/Ghost Pokemon are version exclusives? They would seem to be the type, but if those screenshots came from the same person, probably not. I wonder if there will be a haunted forest area?

  3. Also, didn't that huge post of pictures you posted last night mention Audinos? I think he said that he found an Audino in a shaking bush.

    1. Sorry, I didn't remember that amidst all the other stuff. Still, it's weird that its Pokédex location hasn't been pinpointed by the one who's compiling the list.

  4. I'm not looking at spoilers, but is the first form of the pumpkin pokemon named Pumpkid? And is it's evolution named Pumpking? This is something I wanted as well.

  5. Gah, I really want to know the revolutionary rumor, I have no idea what you're talking about.

  6. So is the level 63 Clawitzer the guy's fighting just a token trainer battle or an important battle later on? I only ask since his Clawitzer is level 37. Granted, it may be because he was just leveling it for the sake of evolving it rather than training it.

It other news I kind-of want to know this "revolutionary" rumor myself. I didn't exactly look terribly hard but if the Smogon noobs aren't shitting themselves in the leaks forum than at least the information isn't in the hands of idiots yet so I'll take your word of on the supposed-impact of the rumor (Smogon isn't also the de-facto ingame monarchs they claim to be but it's at least an "ok" point of reference).

    1. Oh, it IS in the hands of idiots all right. I think this started on GameFAQs of all places.

    2. But if it turns out to be true...then I was right in my guessing THIS time (I went with the one on a quick Google search that seemed to fit your description). I am going to be skeptical on this one and wait until someone LEGITIMATE tests the theory. Many Pokemon are praying that this is true, by the way...

    3. And many aren't. What will become of my beloved Venusaur?

The weird thing is, there are conflicting reports on how big the change is, which is usually a telltale sign that it's not true. Or made up by someone who got lucky enough to get it right anyway,

    4. I love it too, though I also like Roserade...
Yeah, given the "evidence", I am going to go with them NOT changing that particular aspect...

    5. Actually took the initiative to check out the rumor and holy.......

    6. So if the rumour's what I think it is, I think it probably isn't happening. For good or for worse.

    7. Maybe I'm just being stupid but I can't figure out what rumor is being discussed (too many posts on pokemon x/y to even sift through it at this point anyway). A hint so I know what to look for?
