Remember the PS2's superdominance?

With Nintendo and Microsoft fighting over what little leftovers there were?

Well we're about to see it again. It's not everyday that a RIVAL's shares jump up in value when you unveil your big new product. I haven't seen the press conference, admittedly, but I keep hearing about how it's as bad as Sony's at E3 2006 was. Not good at all. Then factor in the fee on used games, Kinect being mandatory, no backwards compatibility, and leaving the always-online aspect up to developers - and OPENLY hoping they do that. That's just about everything everyone DIDN'T want to hear. BUT WAIT, WE HAVE SPORTS!

Oh, and then there's the name. Less savvy people may have trouble understanding that the Wii U is an entirely new thing compared to the Wii, but XBOX ONE?!? That actually sounds like a downgrade, like it's the original Xbox! At least Sony is as straighforward as you can get...

  1. So who is superdominant here? The PS4?

    1. Well it's certainly not gonna be the console meant to compete with machinery that only has one year left in their lifespan...

  2. Not to mention the fact that they showed absolutely NO gameplay. Yep, they showcased all the many features of the Xbox One... Except the core one - how it plays. BRA-FUCKING-VO MICROSOFT.

    1. I have never owned an Xbox but I'd like to point out they said console today, games E3. I wasn't expecting any games.

    2. But to show absolutely NO gameplay? That is ridiculous. For fuck's sake, they didn't even show any of the gameplay from the EA sports games mentioned or Call of Duty, which showed a cutscene.

  3. And guess what. There's a report that Microsoft's president has said that while the Xbox One doesn't require a constant internet connection, it does need to connect to the internet at least once every 24 hours to be able to play games. A tiny bit better but still a kick to the body voltorbs.

  4. I hate how all these new consoles are supposed to be 'entertainment centers'. They're trying to do everything, and they're going to fail because of it. We've seen it happen before.

  5. Another interesting article I've seen. After the Xbox-One was revealed, sales of the Wii U rose significantly on Amazon.com, going from 243rd to 50th, a rise in 386%. Seems like a lot of people are planning on ditching microsoft.

    Here's the proof: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/movers-and-shakers/videogames/ref=zg_bs_tab_t_bsms#1

It may change when you check. One article I found noted an increase in 875% of Wii U sales.

    1. There's a lot more people than you think who like both Nintendo and Microsoft, each for their particular strong points. They were probably holding out on buying a Wii U because of its pathetic launch library (but honestly, which console doesn't have one the days?) and waiting for the new Xbox and after seeing what it'd be like, they said "F*ck that sh*t, I'm buying a Wii U right away then."
It doesn't look like it considering how the Sony fanboys are so much noisier. (And also extremely obnoxious. Trust me, as a Monster Hunter fan, I have a front-row seat to assist to their constant whining.)
