The gen 5 poll went exactly the way I expected - a Conquest curbstomp, with 104 votes out of 158. What I did NOT expect, though, was for MD3, a game that's currently out only in Japan and is generally perceived as a horrible insult to its predecessor, to put up such a fight for third. Rumble 2 still edged it out 23 to 18, though. Typing Adventure, a shovelware that also wasn't released in North America, took 8 votes, presumably for the lulz, while Poképark 2 took the remaining five.
Now it's time for the final poll! What is the best Pokémon spin-off of all time? For me it's a really close call between MD2 and Conquest, but I think I'll have to go with the former by just a little bit.

ReplyDeleteI'm voting Conquest, because while I like the MD games, I really don't like randomly generated dungeons. Conquest felt fresh for Pokemon, with some almost unprecedented depth and challenge.
I'm not that surprised at Conquest getting owned. MD3 doing so well was a strong hint that it owned so much because of the lack of competition.
DeleteWell, since I didn't play MD2 as of now, and I sadly never intend to do so because Nintendo has secured all my incomes for the entire year and the next one, I'll give my vote to Conquest.
ReplyDeleteI'm very sad that nobody thought of making a special fan-made banner for the announced "Year of Luigi" though... I'd try to make one myself, but I have no talent in editing or whatsoever and the results would be horrible... This announcement was so unexpected that it felt special, even if it was just for marketing purpose.
Well I guess you could buy a used copy... of Explorers of the Sky, of course. No sense in buying Time or Darkness now. This is a game every Pokémon fan worthy of that name should experience at least once.
DeleteMaybe, but for now my priorities are : Fire Emblem Awakening, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate and getting a new job. In that order. Nah just kidding, I won't be able to get any of those games if I don't find a new job ASAP.

ReplyDeleteEveryone is choosing Conquest and MD2, but TCG is it's own thing, and no one is giving it any love. May as well use it.
