Interested in Conquest? Only a few days left!

Just a heads-up to anyone who hasn't bought Pokémon Conquest and is considering it - the downloadable events are only available until the end of the year, meaning you're going to pass up on some interesting stuff if you don't hurry up!

The clincher is arguably the mighty Reshiram, definitely the easiest legendary to obtain as long as you downloaded it. Access to Motonari and Motochika in the main story is also compelling, since they are the only warlords of their respective types among those obtainable in the main story (sure, you can also use generic warriors, but warlords have much better stats, and getting a head start on evolving their Pokémon and potentially themselves will be very helpful for the special episodes). There's also the three downloadable episodes, where your interest in them entirely depends on your completionist tendencies - there are six episodes that are the same as Okuni's, six others are the same as Ranmaru's, and three others are the same as Keiji's. Although the last one may have a certain appeal, since Keiji doesn't appear in a lot of episodes, whereas Okuni and Ranmaru are obtainable in a vast majority.

Something to keep in mind, so make yours up quickly!

  1. I'll be honest, slowflake, it was your response to that one pokemon conquest poll a while back that inspired me to pick up this game.(good thing too, because it was the last copy) And yes I already downloaded these. Ironically, I got Keiji's Terrakion (and shieldon/bastiodon) in the "two heroes of ransei" episode though he didn't show up until around year 6.

  2. I was thinking about getting Conquest, but now that the 3DS and the Wii U are out, I've moved over to them and I'm not really planning on getting DS and Wii games any more. Though if I find it for cheap enough, I may decide to pick it up.

    1. IMO a good game is a good game, no matter what system it's on.

    2. Yes, but I was planning to stop getting DS games after B2W2 were released, and focus on 3DS games instead.

  3. All of them were already downloaded a good while ago. I still need to pick an episode where I have a free access to all the warlords from the North-East part of the map to train and evolve them though, except for the warlords from Valora. (Tadakatsu already has Dialga, do I need to say more ?)

Mitsuhide's episode obviously won't do since it doesn't give you enough time to train...

    1. What about Nobunaga's episode? (beat 10 episodes to unlock it)

    2. I dunno, does Nobunaga appear in Masamume's episode? If so, then it's a lot quicker to take that route. All you have to do is beat Ginchiyo's and Muneshige's episodes.

    3. Just checked myself and yes he does appear there. Though you may want to count how many episodes say clear on them. Because if you have 7 or more done without clearing "Not Worth Fighting Over...1" Congrats you've basically unlocked Nobunaga's episode because those 3 are the shortest episodes.

    4. Actually, I've heard that Kiyomasa's and Masanori's episodes are particularly tricky if you don't go out of your way to prepare for them, because Mitsunari's Scizor is an absolute bitch to take down. In fact, the one FAQ on GameFAQs that goes into any kind of depth about the special episodes ranks these two among the hardest in the entire game, despite being so short.

Also, it's nine episodes, not 10. I know that because I'm doing them in order, and I was perplexed by why Nene's episode of all things unlocked Nobunaga's. Turns out you have to beat any nine episodes, Nene has nothing to do with it.

    5. Yeah, I intended to go for Masamume's episode after clearing Kenshin's (Which I'm currently doing right now). I've also already cleared "Not Worth Fighting Over...1" and after seeing how much of a boss Scizor was, and how unfair it was that Mitsunari got Ignis... I kinda decided to try something else.

      But thanks for the suggestions.
