Douchenozzle cons ProtonJon, no anger ensues.

For those of you who missed it, here's what happened: Some attention whoring failure of civilization tried a cheap publicity stunt for his Super Mario World ROM hack, Notte Luminosa, by faking having cancer and saying his dying wish was that someone would LP the hack. ProtonJon and Raocow both obliged, which is impressive considered the former quit LPing SMW hacks a long time ago. And then it turned out Yanama was a cheating lying scumbag, something Jon himself eerily foreshadowed right off the bat.

But the most amazing thing is how Jon reacted to the whole fiasco. Of course he wasn't very happy about it, but at the same time his reaction was more balanced than the way most people, including myself, would've reacted. You just know I would've gone on a rampage of verbal diarrhea, spewing out every cuss and insult in the dictionary and inventing new ones. The day Smogon axed Sand Veil would have been NOTHING compared to that. That feeling when you realize you've been played for a fool is, in my book, one of the most aggravating things ever. But since Jon has a brain, he used it to downplay the importance of what happened. And you know what? As much as I hate to say it, he's 100% right. It didn't physically harm anyone, the worst thing that happened was two people taking some time out of their lives to play a game. Heck, Jon suggested that people donate to cancer charities at the beginning of the project, which if I understood correctly, people actually did. So this stupid stunt, in an odd twist of fate, may end up saving someone's life.

Now, as much as it pains me to give any press to this Yanama asshat, I guess the point of this post is to praise ProtonJon for his attitude towards what happened. Not everyone would react in such a positive, constructive way, least of all myself.

So as far as I'm concerned, I'm just hoping Skelux doesn't pull off something similar! Not that he really needs to, his work is actually quite popular, and his magnum opus was LPed by multiple people, including a popular internet personality. Speaking of Star Road, maybe I should get around to doing that practice run soon. (Yes, I need a practice run. It's that hard.)

  1. My disgust for him is outweighed only by my appreciation of ProtonJon. What an absolute legend; there's no drama, no huge problem, just "that sucks and I want you to know it". If only more of the internet was like him!

  2. I was actually more angry at the people trying to track him down and spamming him hate-mails than him. That douchebag has already ruined his "virtual" life all on his own, at least leave him some slack in real life. Since he can't go on the net by his alias anymore, he might do something more productive than pull some cheap stunts. Besides, since ProtonJon decided to leave the videos online, the proof of what he did will never be erased.

Anyway... I just think that his permanent ban and the fact that the internet will always remember his actions is enough of a punishment as it is. I still think he's an asshole, don't worry, but I feel that directing our rage towards him is just pointless at this point. He isn't worth our time.

    1. Here's your nightmare fuel for the day: imagine if someone tried to pull that stunt on Chugga. We might see the ensuing retaliation in the obituaries.

    2. Poor Chugga, he doesn't even seem to be that bad himself, but since obsessed blind fanboys are the bane of my existence, I refuse to let myself watch his videos. I just know I would get myself into real trouble as soon as I run out of patience with them.

  3. Yeah, Emile said that he was reminded of why Jon is a hero to him because of this. Me? I probably would have given that waste of valuable space that reminds me of why I can really not stand humanity sometimes what he deserves. Since I am a better person than to go to where he lives and beat him up, I would simply either send him some hate (yeah, because that is SO much better), or I would probably egg people to hate spam any account that claims to be him (as you can see, I am a horrid person). Like Jon said, no one was physically hurt, so I will not do that stuff for his sake. Actually, not doing that stuff to the bastard who faked cancer is worse to him because he would probably love the rage. That excuse of what you call man deserves not even THAT pleasure...

    1. You have a good point. I can totally see Yanama seeing Jon's reaction and raging himself at his utter failure to get anything out of the guy.

Also, for what that's worth, MM6 Wily Castle is now ruined forever. Screw this guy, that song was awesome.

    2. Actually, it was the equally awesome final battle music of 6. Sadly, such masterpieces as the Hollow Bastion and Pharaoh Man will also be associated with him, as well as STILL ALIVE! Oh, and something about Sonic 3's Ice Cap, but you do not care about that much, now, do you?...

      Speaking of Mega Man 6...
"My plan for ProtonJon rage and hatred has faild!"
Fitting, is it not, Slow? Yes, in the original 6, that typo was there. Fixed in the Anniversary Collection, of course, but still...

    3. Pretty sure that song that was playing throughout the last world was the fortress' theme, not any boss.

Oh, and I'm also a sucker for Tomahawk Man's music. Thank the stars MM10 remains untouched, Wily stage 1 from it is my favorite in the series.

    4. Well, the boss theme will be associated with him as well...

Personally, I am the only one who probably likes 8's soundtrack (still not the best in the series). Thank goodness its miniboss, Wily Machine, and remix of Bass's (the musical term, Mega Man, not the fish. Man, the VA of that game was hilariously bad) theme. Yes, I like 8. Deal with it. Let us just agree that Mega Man has awesome music and be glad that HE did not soil the reputation of most of the masterpieces. Oh, and thankfully, he did not ruin That One Song in Mega Man 2 with this stunt. Sure, it is overrated compared to many masterpieces (like Ice Cap), but the song everyone knows would not want to get its reputation ruined...

Slow, if I had done that game for that, as you say, douchenozzle, I would need you to teach me some French curses. Not to give that guy the satisfaction, but more or less to say I know them and will save them for something MUCH more worthwhile than trolling a douchenozzle (I like that terminology. Fits the bastard well)...

    5. I don't mind 8 at all, outside of the horrid cutscenes. Maybe it has to do with me having not played a Megaman game before, what was it? 2009? 2010? Either way, it's easily the most unconventional one, but I liked what it brought to the table - as long as you were busy playing.

    6. Looking at it, it would have been nice to see how they would have expanded upon some of the concepts 8 brought. Granted, Bass, 9, and 10 are perfectly fine games, but one has to wonder. Oh, and Wily Stage 1 in 8 can go to hell. Without memorization, you will lose many lives (as pointless as they are in 8). Even if you know the stage, human error will kick in. Could have something to do with the fact that I used a GameCube controller the first time I played 8 (yeah, I have the Anniversary Collection for GameCube because I am lame like that). Too bad it was not the Saturn version there. From what I hear, the Saturn version had nostalgic goodies (it WAS for Mega Man's 10th anniversary, I think) like Wood and Cut Man battles, as well as art outside of the credits, et al. Sure, besides Cut and Wood Man, it did not impact gameplay, but it is still sad that the PS1 version basically only got the bare game. A good game, but still...

Also, you know how Capcom liked seemingly trolling fans of Mega Man? Well, they decided to slap their logo on two fan games to be released on his 25th birthday. The fan games are free to download. Granted, it does not excuse the fact that they cancelled two (technically three) Mega Man games last year without giving a definitive reason (I know you hate, hate, hate Legends, but it was still sad for those of us who either liked it or only experienced it via emulators (I liked it and all, but there is a better feeling with playing games on the systems they were made for) and would like an experience that does not cost $150 per game (they really do go about that high)). I have accepted that the one that matters will not be coming back, so confirmation that they are NOT abandoning him yet is still a good thing...

Oh, and I was fascinated by Mega Man by ClementJ642...

  4. What a cruel, lying bastard. Lying that he got cancer, and that he was dying from it, just to make ProtonJon LP one of his ROM hacks? He's basically insulting everyone who has or had cancer. People I know have had cancer, and I'd feel insulted too if he lyed about having cancer when one of the people I knew and loved actually did have it.

Plus, by the time ProtonJon had finished the LP, he'd probably be dead anyway.

    1. Maybe Fate will give him leukemia. Then he will be as The Boy Who Cried Wolf, and he will suffer his fate. Cancer is bad no matter how you view it, but those of you into karma would probably hope it actually happens. Me? I care not. To me, the bastard is just another lying, selfish human. I see so many of them that I cannot express anger properly at just one...

  5. ProtonJon doesn't have a brain. Did you see his Monster Bash review? He's a douche who doesn't know golden classics and beautiful art when he sees them. and fat.

    1. I think you're not talking about the same person. ProtonJon never reviewed Monster Bash as far as I know. I think you're talking about JonTron, who is a completely different person.

    3. I could also criticize you for bashing somebody just because he has a different opinion than yours, but I'm not in the mood for that kind of argument right now. Too busy playing Tales of Symphonia.

  6. Wow.
    Yanama had depression, you git.
ProtonJon is the real douchebag. Abusing girlfriends as well as mental illness sufferers...
    Get off the internet.
