So there's a new C-Gear skin available to commemorate the 2012 World Championships, and guess what's on it? FUCKING PIKACHU AGAIN. They have over 600 critters to choose from, some of which look amazingly cool, and they go with FUCKING PIKACHU AGAIN. Just how overmarketed is that thing? I'm sick to death of it! At least it doesn't look like roadkill, unlike last year. God that thing was ugly. The fact that it can't even be obtained in a single gen 5 OR in the Dream World would tend to indicate that they've finally moved on, but noooooo! FUCKING PIKACHU AGAIN!
Sorry about that outburst, I'm just really angry and need to vent. At least I have an idea for a future poll.
They've marketed Pikachu for years and it's been a huge success. The logical thing to do for making money is to keep marketing the mouse, so I can see why they're doing it.
ReplyDeleteBut on a better note, and this is right out of left field, the Genesect event has suddenly gone live for Japanese copies of Black 2 and White 2 until September 14th. Yeah, a passing flash of it in a coro coro leak and then all of a sudden "Here, free wi-fi Genesect". That came out of nowhere.
Well, at least you can hack it and change it to whatever you want, 10x better than any of the official skins

Surveys and infrared crap make sense if (as Gamefreak do) you restrict your field of vision to Japan, where you can generally count on there being a DS or two in StreetPass range at any given time so long as you're anywhere remotely urban. Elsewhere in the world that tends not to be the case so those features decline in utility. C-Gear skins are lipstick on a pig and I don't see why anyone would care about them at all, in Japan or not.

Ugh. Happy Electric Rodent Week, everyone. Serebii gets to talk about the PC fodder that are the electric rodents that are supposed to be cute and not much else (well, Raichu is okay (JUST okay); and Pikachu is less okay but people still use it with a Light Ball for some reason. The rest pretty much suck to some degree. Plusle and Minun: no one uses because of Double-only abilities, and the stats are not so hot. Pachirisu: supposed to be a defensive Electric type but fails at it and about everything else. Emolga: outclassed by every Electric/Flying type; only dangerous with Elesa if you are not prepared for it). The only "cute" Pokemon I like would be Jirachi, Manaphy, and (if you consider it somewhat cute) Azelf. The rest either look bada** and/or play bada**...
ReplyDeleteYeah i also don,t like Pikachu at all. I mean they care so much about that Rodent but don,t care at all for the ones whit the normal typing! I don,t see the appeal for Pikachu at all. It is sort of cute but not anything else. It is only for the failed ailen Ash and that stupid predictable ,overrated anime who easily get,s outclassed by ALL other pokemon mangas. I agree what Slowflake once said. Why doesn,t the kids in the games want be something cool like Tyranitar instead of Pikachu!? It still are funny that some pikachu fan,s in Pokemon Battle Revoultion talks so so much how much they love Pikachu and try to be like it and still don,t have one on their team.
