New poll: most wanted Pokémon spinoff

But before we do that, the results of the last poll, with 230 votes! 127 Americans top the charts, no surprise there. 45 from the British Isles, no surprise there either. 23 from Canada... what? For some reason I expected more. Oh well, no one is a prophet in their own land, I guess. 19 voters are from continental Europe, and I'd wager most of them are from Germany. The rest of the world gets the remaining scraps: 7 from Latin America (good thing I edited the poll five minutes in!), 4 from Asia, 4 from Australia or New Zealand, and one from Africa.

Up next: which Pokémon spinoff would you most like to see before this generation ends? We're presumably halfway through gen 5 right now, and so far we've had Rumble 2, Poképark 2 and the Nobunaga crossover. This leaves a lot of room for others. We haven't had the mandatory console battling game yet... could this be our first generation without such a game? The Ranger and Mystery Dungeon series also lack a new entry, and we don't have a storage utility like Box and Ranch yet. So, which one of these would you most like to see?

  1. The only spin off (besides Rumble) that I like is Mystery Dungeon, so I guess that's my vote.

  2. I really liked XD, so maybe something like that but with more Shadow Pokemon, and a main character that can freaking emote.

  3. For me it's between MD3 and Ranger 4, so I decided to go with Ranger.

  4. Definitely a console battling game. As much as I like the mystery dungeon series, there is just something about seeing the Pokemon in 3d that appeals to me. Im hoping for a combination of XD and PBR - Like a game with a decent story that has wifi maybe?

    1. Yes, I voted for a console battling game as well, but it should have a story mode to back it up like the Gamecube ones

  5. Console battling game if it's got a plot. And the plot doesn't involve stealing Pokémon when the trainers don't notice. PBR was fun, but BW has constantly moving sprites and graphics which obviously don't rival it, but they create the same sort of feeling while battling.

Otherwise PMD3, PMD2 was probably the only spinoff game I was tempted to replay other than Shadows of Almia. (I HATED Ranger 3 for that reason actually, I just didn't like it as much.)

  6. I'd go for another Colosseum like game with something different than shadow pokemon.

Also, Blogspot is confusing the fuck out of me, it asks me to follow, but now I'm a member not a follower, and now it says I'm the only follower and everyone else is a member!

    1. Did you not like the shadow Pokemon system? I thought it was interesting and fun.

  7. MD3, by a large margin. I still don't think we've had a good console game yet, the Stadiums and PBR (though I've never played them) just seem to be console battling engines, so they're boring for spinoffs. Colosseum and XD were the games with plots, but they sucked and the combat sucked as well. I want to vote Ranger because I really like that spin-off series, but it already has three entries. I also want to throw in an interest for Pokemon Snap 2, because the first was pretty fun for me.

But MD3 gets my vote because we need more of that series. The plot of the second, at least, was the darkest and most complex of any Pokemon plot, and the game was a hell of a lot of fun to play.

  8. I would want to see a pokemon game where you are on the bad guys side but you don't necessary have to win certain (cough cough good guy trainner cough) matches. I think that should have been the white and black scheme, though I'm a bit dated and said team rocket instead of the latest.
