Masuda announces Extremespeed Pikachu event

And guess what? It's probably going to be Japan-only, as it's related to the launch of a bullet train. Oh well, that's what Pokémon Online is for. This is actually big, BIG news for Pikachu and Raichu, since their speed leaves to be desired. Especially Pikachu, who WILL die to anything faster and has one of the highest attack scores in the game. The hilarious thing is that Pikachu has so many event moves, and time after time they pick the most worthless ones... I guess they were bound to run out of crappy moves at some point.

By the way, this isn't Masuda's big announcement... that will be taken care of later today.

  1. Wait, is this the first event move for Pikachu that IS good?

  2. Wow. 8,999 useless event moves for the overrated rodent (Surf is up to interpretation), and NOW they choose a good one? They must indeed be out of crap moves to give him...

  3. This is madness ! No ! This ! is ! a bad joke !
They REALLY want Pikachu to be considered as a good choice in competitive battles... Too bad I dislike using glass canons.

I would personally like to see Victini becoming the new mascot of the franchise, just because I'm so tired of seeing Pikachu everywhere...

  5. So... this thing better have a Light Ball. As far as I know, you can't currently get that item in Black/White (correct me if I am wrong).

    1. There is a way to get a Light Ball in gen 5, and for Pokémon Online purposes it's all that matters. But for Wi-Fi battling, you're out of luck, as the only Light Balls in circulation came from the Sing + Teeter Dance Pikachu from last year.
