How stupid can those people be? Trains move at super high speed and if you jump the lights you put your life and the lives of everyone on that train in jeopardy. The UK rail network spends a large amount of money yearly to try and educate people on the issue, yet people still ignore the warnings.Looneymanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00673462056071875293noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1280492081721752941.post-66305681773381721112014-10-20T19:16:25.338-04:002014-10-20T19:16:25.338-04:00The town where I live is too small to have any sor...The town where I live is too small to have any sort of traffic issues. The worst we get is old farts walking right in the middle of the road (I'd probably call them a more polite term if they stuck to the side of the road, and kids weaving all over the place on their bikes.Slowflakehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18090675773915536700noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1280492081721752941.post-10706421343355111122014-10-20T19:13:01.547-04:002014-10-20T19:13:01.547-04:00And then there are those people who basically give...And then there are those people who basically give the finger to cyclists, too. We were on this one trail, not too dangerous, but full of enough blind turns that you'd want to keep your speed down. These two teenagers suddenly came FLYING past us a good 20mph faster than I was going and zoomed around the corner up ahead, kicking up a massive cloud of dust. I thought to myself "You assholes, I hope you run off the road" and kept on riding.

Not even 30 seconds later, I round the turn and see a veritable crime scene up ahead: skid marks leading off the trail, a 4-wheeler tipped on its side caught up against a couple of trees and missing a wheel, and one of the guys from earlier crawling out of the woods. I pull over and ask what happened, and sure enough, a friggin moose had jumped out in between the 2 wheelers and the second one had to swerve off the road to avoid getting hit. Luckily he was wearing a helmet, even if he wasn't wearing any other protective gear. He wasn't hurt much--just his wheeler got trashed--so I don't feel bad saying the reckless bastard deserved it.Anemoshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18432226961976170708noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1280492081721752941.post-46296913715683247922014-10-19T18:55:41.864-04:002014-10-19T18:55:41.864-04:00The funniest story I have about this kind of thing...The funniest story I have about this kind of thing happened back when my brother and I were still teens. We were on the road with our parents, then suddenly a car passed us at what must've been like 160 km/h in a 90 limit zone. Well, later on we saw the car on the side of the road, its driver getting friendly with a cop. Then later we saw the EXACT SAME CAR passing us with the same frantic pace, and just as we were about to reach our destination we caught up with it at a red light. Yeah, going so fast was REALLY helpful.Slowflakehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18090675773915536700noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1280492081721752941.post-35032874358352371292014-10-19T18:30:28.513-04:002014-10-19T18:30:28.513-04:00The other day, I had someone get into a turn-only ...The other day, I had someone get into a turn-only lane to my right in order to pass me, when the turn in question was only about 100 feet ahead. He was probably going over 50MPH (80KPH) in a 25 to make that pass. So he jumped ahead exactly one car in this line of 10ish cars, saving himself a grand total of maybe one second for his trip. What an ass.

http://youtu.be/dVB_ioxmlnQ?t=2m25sShadianVisehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14781350411603488703noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1280492081721752941.post-31122605384931283142014-10-19T18:00:37.348-04:002014-10-19T18:00:37.348-04:00At least around here the main issue is either bad ...At least around here the main issue is either bad weather or larger vehicles that take longer to stop, which would make it likelier to hit someone hard breaking to avoid a red-light ticket. Yeah it's idiots still causing accidents, but usually it's the idiot behind the first person at the intersection. Plus around here there's the issue that the yellow lights are shorter than they're supposed to be by law in some places, thus ticketing people unfairly. It's sadly one of those things that end up causing more problems than they solve.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07489939756581905006noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1280492081721752941.post-54642314920646733932014-10-19T16:45:09.406-04:002014-10-19T16:45:09.406-04:00Huh, weird. Then again, if the light didn't just turn green I tend to let go of the gas regardless of what it is instead of slamming the brakes if it happens to turn yellow. So in a way this still boils down to people not driving as they should to minimize the risk of accidents. Because getting where you need to be milliseconds earlier is SO worth the risk of never getting anywhere ever again.Slowflakehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18090675773915536700noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1280492081721752941.post-8199226437125019862014-10-19T16:36:29.846-04:002014-10-19T16:36:29.846-04:00To be fair, traffic cameras actually increase the ...To be fair, traffic cameras actually increase the rate of accidents (http://hscweb3.hsc.usf.edu/health/now/?p=404), so anger is justified.
