I have never seen a wild shiny in my life before Pokemon Y (I was so jealous of your Emerald playthrough) but I have found no less than FOUR shinies in pokemon Y. I thought my shiny magikarp was pretty bad (It was modest with 0 Attack IVs as well) but shiny male combee takes the grand prize. Still, even though the rate increased by 50%, you'd think 1 in 4096 would still be an agonizingly rare occurence.
